American sensation Coco Gauff, the 19-year-old seeded sixth in the 2023 U.S. Open women’s singles tournament, has reached the quarterfinals. She secured her spot with impressive wins over former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki and Belgium’s Elise Mertens, the tournament’s No. 32 seed.

Gauff, will be joined in the quarterfinals by fellow American Madison Keys, currently ranked 17th in the world. Keys reached the final eight by defeating third-seeded American Jessica Pegula in straight sets during the Round of 16.

Both women now face tough matchups, which we will discuss here. There is also a quarterfinal showdown between Romania’s Sorana Cirstea and Czech professional Karolina Muchova. These three matches all figure into our U.S. Open best bets for the women’s singles quarterfinals.

Jelena Ostapenko vs Coco Gauff Odds, Moneyline & Spread – US Open Betting Women’s Odds 9/5

(20.5) Over -138, Under +100

(23.5) Over +140, Under –200
Jelena Ostapenko vs Coco Gauff Prediction and Pick

Coco Gauff reached the quarterfinals by ending Caroline Wozniacki’s comeback run in New York. The Danish star, who had been out of Grand Slam competition since the 2020 Australian Open, received high praise from Gauff for the inspiration she has brought to the game. Wozniacki and Gauff split the first two sets, and Gauff was down a break in the third and final set before fighting her way back to claim the win.

The No. 6 seed is flying high after winning competitions in both Washington and Cincinnati. Gauff is playing some of her best tennis on American soil in 2023.

Her opponent, 20th-seeded Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia, entered the final eight by eliminating world No. 1 and defending tournament champion Iga Swiatek, who was favored to win the Open again this year. The Ostapenko-Gauff match promises to provide some fireworks for fans at the Open, since it involves two of the tournament’s most impressive players from the first four rounds.

While Ostapenko’s win over Swiatek is potentially enough to envision her achieving another upset, I can’t go against Gauff playing in her home country right now. She has been elite and is now one of the best bets to win in the U.S. Open quarterfinals.

The Pick: Coco Gauff to win (-250)

Sorana Cirstea vs Karolina Muchova Odds, Moneyline & Spread – Bet US Open tennis

Match Winner: Sorana Cirstea +130, Karolina Muchova -167
1st Set Winner: Sorana Cirstea +120, Karolina Muchova -167
2nd Set Winner: Sorana Cirstea +120, Karolina Muchova -167
Total Games:
(19.5) Over -223, Under +150
(20.5) Over -167, Under +120
(21.5) Over -134, Under -106
(22.5) Over +100, Under -138
(23.5) Over +120, Under –167
Sorana Cirstea vs Karolina Muchova Prediction and Pick

Sorana Cirstea is on a run right now -- having knocked out 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, the No. 4 seed, in a three-set thriller during the U.S. Open’s third round. She carried momentum from that win into her Round of 16 clash with 15th-seeded Belinda Bencic, whom she eliminated in straight sets. Tennis fans are now wondering how much further Cirstea, the No. 30 seed, might go.

Her U.S. Open quarterfinal opponent is Karolina Muchova, who has dropped only one set through her first four matches. However, Muchova has yet to play against a top-30 opponent at this tournament. Cirstea now faces underdog U.S. Open betting odds, but I’m not writing her off just yet.

Muchova is the world’s 10th-ranked player and made the final of this year’s French Open. She is surging in New York but must stop Cirstea in her tracks if she wishes to reach her second Grand Slam event final in 2023. This one’s not going to be easy.

Muchova is a slight favorite to win this matchup with U.S. Open tennis odds of -167 to win her quarterfinal match. She has won three of her four previous matches against Cirstea, winning six of nine total sets.

This one is really tough to call. Cirstea is the older player and the underdog, but she has played impeccable tennis at this tournament so far. Rather than bet against her, which is a risk right now, I’m predicting the match will exceed 21.5 total games in what should be a really exciting back-and-forth affair.

The Pick: Over 21.5 Games (-134)

Marketa Vondrousova vs Madison Keys Odds, Moneyline & Spread – U.S. Open Betting Women’s Odds 9/5

Match Winner: Marketa Vondrousova -118, Madison Keys -106
1st Set Winner: Marketa Vondrousova -118, Madison Keys -118
2nd Set Winner: Marketa Vondrousova -125, Madison Keys -112
Total Games:
(19.5) Over -223, Under +150
(20.5) Over -167, Under +120
(21.5) Over -125, Under -112
(22.5) Over +100, Under -138
(23.5) Over +120, Under –167
Marketa Vondrousova vs. Madison Keys Prediction and Pick

The U.S. Open performance turned in by Madison Keys when she eliminated No. 3 seed Jessica Pegula was convincing enough to make anyone want to continue betting on her at this tournament. After breaking Pegula’s serve twice in the first set, Keys went on to hit crucial winners for the rest of the match.

Despite her overall No. 17 ranking and her outstanding performance against Pegula, Keys enters the quarterfinals as a slight underdog against Marketa Vondrousova, the tournament’s No. 9 seed.

Vondrousova won Wimbledon this summer, beating Ons Jabeur in straight sets in the final. She is now thrashing her way through the U.S. Open in pursuit of a second 2023 Grand Slam event title.

Through her first four matches at this year’s Open, Vondrousova has only allowed an opponent to win more than three games in a set once. That happened when she lost the closely contested opening set of her Round of 16 match against American Peyton Stearns. She has won every other set comfortably and now looks like one of the best bets to win in the U.S. Open quarterfinals.

While Madison Keys' performance in the previous round was inspirational, I can’t help but find myself leaning toward Vondrousova here. She is going to be very tough to slow down at this point in the tournament.

The Pick: Marketa Vondrousova to win (-118)
