We are already into Week 6 of the 2023-24 NHL season, and while we all know it’s a long and grueling grind for most teams, some teams are making life harder for themselves. The Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, and New York Islanders are all loaded with talented players, but these clubs just can’t put anything together of late – with all three currently sitting near the bottom of their respective divisions. With four games on the league’s Wednesday night schedule, let's dive in and break down the upcoming action.

Best NHL Parlays - Wednesday, Nov. 15: 4-Leg Parlay Picks (+563)

Philadelphia Flyers vs. Carolina Hurricanes Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Betting Lines 11/15

Moneyline: Flyers (+195), Hurricanes (-240)
Spread: Flyers +1.5 (-135), Hurricanes -1.5 (+105)
Total: Over/Under 6.5 goals

Philadelphia Flyers vs. Carolina Hurricanes Prediction and Pick

First up on Wednesday night’s NHL slate is a game between the Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes. The Flyers have unquestionably turned the corner this season as they are now 7-7-1. Philly goaltender Carter Hart is off to a good start in helping his team record several quality wins. The problem in Philadelphia has been consistency. Carolina, meanwhile, had a rough start to the season in losing four of its first six games, but the Hurricanes got themselves back on track and come into this matchup at 9-6-0. These teams met earlier in the season when the Hurricanes beat the Flyers 3-2 on Oct. 30. Carolina winger Teuvo Teravainen scored late in the third period of that game to lead his team to victory. The Flyers battled hard and had a 2-1 lead after the first period. Look for Philadelphia to put up another strong performance on Wednesday night. A weird trend this season has seen the Flyers repeatedly beat teams they had lost to in their initial 2023-24 meetings. That group includes the Anaheim Ducks, Buffalo Sabres, and Los Angeles Kings. In each case, Philadelphia won the rematch. While I would like to ride that trend again and predict a win on Wednesday night, I’ll play it a bit safer and take the Flyers on the adjusted line at +2.5. The argument against taking a +1.5 spread is that teams tend to pull their goalies when trailing in the third period. While losing a game by one is always possible, covering two goals is always a much safer play in the NHL.

Leg-1 Parlay Pick: Philadelphia Flyers +2.5 (-240)

Seattle Kraken vs. Edmonton Oilers Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Betting Lines 11/15

Moneyline: Kraken (+160), Oilers (-190)
Spread: Kraken +1.5 (-160), Oilers -1.5 (+120)
Total: Over/Under 6.5 goals

Seattle Kraken vs. Edmonton Oilers Prediction and Pick

The Edmonton Oilers have been quite disappointing this season. A team with so much offensive talent should not be 4-9-1. Some of the losses Edmonton has suffered have been nothing less than downright embarrassing. The Seattle Kraken have also had what could be termed a disappointing start to the season after making the playoffs last year. Seattle is just 5-8-3, a record that calls out for a rebuild. The Oilers manhandled the Kraken on Saturday in their first game after former head coach Jay Woodcroft was fired. Under new coach Kris Knoblauch, Edmonton is riding a two-game winning streak, but these Oilers have fooled me too many times this season. The over definitely tempts me here, because the Oilers allow the NHL’s fourth-most goals per game. However, since Woodcroft’s departure, this team has only allowed one goal in each of its last two games. Another reason I will stay away from wagering on the total is because the Kraken’s offense is horrendous and has scored the fourth-fewest goals in the league. So, I am left with no choice here but to go with the Oilers in the second leg of this parlay. Edmonton, please don’t let me down.

Leg-2 Parlay Pick: Edmonton Oilers ML (-190)

Anaheim Ducks vs. Colorado Avalanche Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Betting Lines 11/15

Moneyline: Ducks (+240), Avalanche (-300)
Spread: Ducks +1.5 (+105), Avalanche -1.5 (-130)
Total: Over/Under 6.5 goals

Anaheim Ducks vs. Colorado Avalanche Prediction and Pick

I tip my hat to the Anaheim Ducks, who are 9-6-0 this season. They have certainly surprised me and have picked up some great victories, including when they handed the Vegas Golden Knights their first regulation loss of the season. Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal has been impressive in posting a 5-2-0 record and .910 save percentage. Dostal’s performance in goal has been a big reason for the Ducks’ hot start. It gets tough for them on Wednesday, because Anaheim will be in Colorado to face one of the top teams in hockey. Although November hasn’t been the greatest month for the Avalanche, who have lost three of six games, Colorado will be looking for a second straight win on Wednesday night. Give me the Avalanche in a big one.

Leg-3 Parlay Pick: Colorado Avalanche ML (-300)

New York Islanders vs. Vancouver Canucks Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Betting Lines 11/15

Moneyline: Islanders (+130), Canucks (-160)
Spread: Islanders +1.5 (-190), Canucks -1.5 (+150)
Total: Over/Under 6.5 goals

New York Islanders vs. Vancouver Canucks Prediction and Pick

The Islanders and Canucks enter Wednesday night’s game headed in opposite directions. New York has lost five straight games in dropping to 5-6-3 while Vancouver has only one loss this month and ranks second in the NHL’s Pacific Division at 11-3-1. The Canucks are one of the hottest teams in hockey and are becoming a force to be reckoned with in the Western Conference. Winger Brock Boeser has 12 goals this season -- the league’s third-highest total -- and has been a major reason for Vancouver’s success. For the Islanders, this 2023-24 NHL season has been one to forget so far, but there is still plenty of time for New York to rebound. What better way to start a resurgence then by beating one of the NHL’s best teams? Isles goaltender Ilya Sorokin is still one of the best at his position despite his poor start, Expect him to have a great game on Wednesday night as his team looks to stop the bleeding. Center Bo Horvat will need to take the reins of the Islanders’ offense against his former team, because a big performance from him could easily lead New York to victory.

Leg-4 Parlay Pick: New York Islanders ML (+130)
