Week 4 of the NHL season is under way, and two teams remain unbeaten in regulation. In the Eastern Conference, the Boston Bruins have surged to an 8-0-1 record and already have a four-point lead in the Atlantic Division with a game in hand over Detroit. In the West, the defending Stanley Cup champion Las Vegas Golden Knights continue to dominate at 9-0-1. Neither of these teams is slated to play on Wednesday, but eight others are in action. Let’s take a look at all four scheduled matchups.

Best NHL Parlays for Wednesday, Nov. 1, 4-Leg Parlay Picks (+732)

Buffalo Sabres vs. Philadelphia Flyers Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Betting Lines 11/1

Moneyline: Sabres (-110), Flyers (-110)
Spread: Anaheim Ducks +1.5 (-260), Boston Bruins -1.5 (+200)
Total: Over/Under 6.5 goals

Buffalo Sabres vs. Philadelphia Flyers Prediction and Pick

Wednesday night’s matchup between the Buffalo Sabres and Philadelphia Flyers is the opener of a home-and-home series between these two teams, which will travel to Buffalo for the rematch on Friday. Both the Sabres and Flyers missed the playoffs last season, but they are now very much on the rise and could potentially be headed for the postseason next spring. The Sabres, one of the NHL’s top-scoring teams in 2022-23, are starting to heat up again. Buffalo is averaging 4.6 goals per game over its last three outings. The Flyers, meanwhile, rank eighth in the NHL in terms of goals scored per game, while Philly’s defense is 13th for goals allowed per game. There’s no doubt that the Flyers have really turned a corner this season. They have kept the score close against some of the league’s top teams – having played the Dallas Stars, Vegas Golden Knights, and Carolina Hurricanes down to the wire before losing each game by one goal. Flyers goaltender Carter Hart’s 4-3-0 record might not suggest greatness, but he has been dominant this season --compiling the 10th-lowest goals-against average among all NHL goalies. Buffalo’s offense looks like it’s heating up, but that might not be enough against an emerging Flyers team with a rising star in goal.

Leg-1 Parlay Pick: Philadelphia Flyers ML (-110)

Dallas Stars vs. Calgary Flames Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Betting Lines 11/1

Moneyline: Stars (-130), Flames (+110)
Spread: Stars -1.5 (+180), Flames -1.5 (-240)
Total: Over/Under 5.5 goals

Dallas Stars vs. Calgary Flames Prediction and Pick

This line might appear to be a head-scratcher for die-hard hockey fans. Yes, this could be a classic trap game for Dallas. Nevertheless, this line is just flat-out disrespectful to the Stars, who are the far superior team in this matchup. As was the case last season, the Stars are one of the top teams in the Western Conference. Only an abundance of overtime losses prevented Dallas from winning the West last year, but the Stars have already gone to overtime twice in 2023-24, and they are 1-1 in those games. In other words, Dallas is doing a much better job closing out wins and avoiding extra time. This team is realistically the second- or third-best team in the Western Conference, and I’m not even referring to the current standings. The Flames have lost five of their last six games and didn’t look competitive in those defeats. Expect the Stars to pick up an easy victory to kick off their Canadian road trip.

Leg-2 Parlay Pick: Dallas Stars ML (-135)

St. Louis Blues vs. Colorado Avalanche Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Betting Lines 11/1

Moneyline: Blues (+190), Avalanche (-225)
Spread: Blues +1.5 (-125), Avalanche -1.5 (+100)
Total: Over/Under 6.5 goals

St. Louis Blues vs. Colorado Avalanche Prediction and Pick

The Colorado Avalanche are looking like a scary team again this season, and center Nathan MacKinnon appears virtually unstoppable. Fellow forwards Mikko Rantanen and Ryan Johansen are also off to great starts with five goals for Rantanen and four for Johansen. The Avs’ defense has also been gritty. Colorado allows just 2.50 goals per game -- the sixth-lowest total in the NHL. On Wednesday, the Avalanche go up against a St. Louis Blues offense that ranks a dismal 31st in the NHL. It appears that Avs backup goaltender Ivan Prosvetov will get the start. That might have some bettors thinking Prosvetov’s presence gives the Blues a fighting chance, since starter Alexandar Georgiev is getting his first night off this season. However, Prosvetov is no slouch. While his career stats aren’t anything to get excited about, one has to recognize that he previously played for the Arizona Coyotes, who were an NHL bottom-feeder during his years with the team. Over a three-game stretch with Arizona last March, Prosvetov only allowed 1.67 goals per game and had a save percentage of .952. He’ll be just fine in goal against the incompetent St. Louis offense.

Leg-3 Parlay Pick: Colorado Avalanche ML (-240)

Arizona Coyotes vs. Anaheim Ducks Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Betting Lines 11/1

Moneyline: Coyotes (-130), Ducks (+110)
Spread: Coyotes -1.5 (+175), Ducks +1.5 (-225)
Total: Over/Under 6.5 goals

Arizona Coyotes vs. Anaheim Ducks Prediction and Pick

I tip my cap to this Arizona Coyotes team. It opened the season with what I thought was a fluke overtime win over the New Jersey Devils. Looking back, however, that actually might have been a legitimate, deserved win because, since then, the Coyotes have held their own against some of the top teams in hockey. Arizona goaltender Karel Vejmelka has been a monster this season. His .926 save percentage ranks 10th in the league, while his 2.51 goals-against average ranks 16th. Meanwhile, the Coyotes’ offense is scoring 3.38 goals per game, which is the same amount as the powerhouse Colorado Avalanche. Arizona’s opponent on Wednesday, the Anaheim Ducks, has had some “good wins” as well. The Ducks must have kissed a leprechaun or something to pick up a wild 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins that saw Anaheim score twice in the final two minutes to force overtime. Earlier in the season, Anaheim also beat a downward-spiraling Carolina Hurricanes team. However, the Ducks won’t have that sort of success on Wednesday, when the Coyotes will prevail on the road. Arizona has owned Anaheim this season – beating the Ducks 2-1 on Oct. 21 and also winning two out of three preseason matchups.

Leg-4 Parlay Pick: Arizona Coyotes ML (-130)
