Best NHL Player Prop Bets Today (11/2/23) - Wednesday, November 1st

Cam Atkinson Philadelphia Flyers winger Cam Atkinson is emerging as one of his team’s top scorers this season, as his five goals trail only Travis Konecny’s eight. With both players off to such great starts, the Flyers are an emerging playoff contender. On Wednesday night, Philadelphia gets to face a Buffalo Sabres defense that is allowing the NHL’s 13th-most shots on goal. While both teams will be aggressive in this game, I’m picking Atkinson to excel because he has hit the over for his current shots-on-goal prop in three of his past four games.

The Pick: Cam Atkinson over 2.5 shots on goal (-125)
Roope Hintz There is a lot of talent on the Stars, which is why it’s no surprise that Dallas ranks among the top teams in the NHL’s Western Conference. With forwards such as Roope Hintz, Wyatt Johnston, Joe Pavelski, Jason Robertson, Tyler Seguin, and many others, this team really does deserve to be called “the Stars.” Through seven games, Hintz has been one of Dallas’ top scorers as well as one of the most active skaters in the offensive zone. On Wednesday, Hintz and the Stars face a Calgary Flames defense that allows nearly 30 shots on goal per game. Given Hintz’s current prop total, this shots-on-goal play looks like a steal. He has gone over this total in five of seven games, and the Stars will need to lean on him as they look to win on the road.

The Pick: Roope Hintz over 2.5 shots on goal (-118)
Nathan MacKinnonCenter Nathan MacKinnon has been -- and still is -- the focal point and ring leader of the Colorado Avalanche offense. Since Avs starting goalie Alexandar Georgiev is expected to be given the night off on Wednesday, Colorado will need everything it can get from its offense in its game against the St. Louis Blues. Through eight games, MacKinnon has put 48 shots on goal, including a 14-shot game against the San Jose Sharks earlier this season. The Blues are allowing the league’s seventh-most shots on goal per game this season, and they have yet to face a player of MacKinnon’s caliber. This shots-on-goal total is high and carries some risk, but I lean toward the over on MacKinnon’s prop total for Wednesday night.

The Pick: Nathan MacKinnon over 5.5 shots on goal (+105)
Clayton KellerForward Clayton Keller has been one of the Arizona Coyotes’ most consistent skaters this season and is tied for the team lead with four goals. Meanwhile, Anaheim’s defense hasn’t been very good this year in allowing the NHL’s 10th-most shots on goal per game. Given that stat, plus Keller’s consistency, his prop line for Wednesday comes with some high juice. It’s worth it, however, because Keller has already hit this shots-on-goal total in six of eight games.

The Pick: Clayton Keller over 2.5 shots on goal (-182)
