Best NHL Parlays - Wednesday, Dec. 27: 4 Leg Parlay Picks (+306)

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. New Jersey Devils Prediction and Pick

The Columbus Blue Jackets resume their 2023-24 NHL season with a visit to New Jersey on Wednesday night. Both teams have enjoyed a few days off for the holidays, and that extra Devils rest is particularly bad news for Columbus because New Jersey is the superior team in virtually every statistical category this season. The Blue Jackets’ defense is their biggest problem. Columbus allows both the NHL’s third-most goals and shots on goal per game this season. Combine the Devils’ top 10 offense with Columbus’ poor play in its own zone, and you have a New Jersey recipe for success at home on Wednesday night. This will be the third meeting between these teams in 2023-24. Surprisingly, the season series is tied, with New Jersey winning the most recent meeting 6-3. Vitek Vanecek is expected to start in goal for the home team and should have a field day against these Blue Jackets. Look for the Devils to win big in their first game back from the break.

Leg-1 Parlay Pick: New Jersey Devils ML (-275)
Colorado Avalanche vs. Arizona Coyotes Prediction and Pick

Colorado might not have the best record in the NHL, but anyone who watches the Avalanche on a regular basis can see how much better they are than most of their opponents.  Night after night, the Avs’ offensive-zone puck control alone is far superior to what opposing teams display. Colorado is ranked second in the league behind Vancouver when it comes to goals scored per game, and it’s really a treat to watch the Avs because they rarely make mistakes and usually provide one or two highlight-reel moments. On Wednesday night, they visit an Arizona team trying to make strides in the right direction but still looking for an identity. This will be the season’s third meeting of these teams, and it’s a bit of a surprise that they split their first two games. The first matchup was won by the Coyotes in overtime on Nov. 30, but the Avalanche dominated the second matchup and scored a commanding 4-1 win last Saturday. Colorado let its guard down against this Arizona team a month ago, and the Coyotes stole a win. However, in last weekend’s game the Avalanche showed that they won’t make the same mistake twice. Colorado wins big in its return to the ice on Wednesday

Leg-2 Parlay Pick: Colorado Avalanche ML (-165)

Vegas Golden Knights vs. Anaheim Ducks Prediction and Pick

The reigning Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights stumbled toward the holiday break with three straight losses and needed an overtime shootout to beat the cellar-dwelling San Jose Sharks as recently as Dec. 10. Two nights later, they needed overtime again to beat Calgary at home after allowing the Flames to tie the score with just a minute left in regulation. After surviving those two OT scares, the Knights dropped four of their next five games, which includes their current three-game skid. Vegas is still one of the best teams in hockey and one of the odds-on favorites to win the Cup again this season, but the team’s performance leading up to the holiday break was undoubtedly a bit concerning. The good news for the Golden Knights on Wednesday is that they get to play an inferior Anaheim Ducks team that allows the NHL’s ninth-most goals and 10th-most shots on goal per game this season. Look for Vegas to bounce back with a big win.

Leg-3 Parlay Pick: Vegas Golden Knights ML (-225)

San Jose Sharks vs. Los Angeles Kings Prediction and Pick

The San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings recently faced each other on Dec. 19 at San Jose, and the Kings prevailed 4-1. While Los Angeles went through a brief rough patch earlier this month -- dropping three straight games -- the Kings are still one of the best teams in hockey. They certainly deserve to be, since Cam Talbot has been one of the league’s finest goaltenders in 2023-24 and the Kings’ have been outstanding on defense in front of him. L.A. currently allows the NHL’s fewest goals and second-fewest shots on goal per game. Add in the team’s fourth-ranked offense with 3.53 goals per game, and it’s clear that these Kings have their eyes on a Stanley Cup run this season. The Sharks, meanwhile, have been the worst team in the league, and it’s not even close. This game won’t be close either, as the Kings will win big.

Leg-4 Parlay Pick: Los Angeles Kings ML (-350)
