The NHL season continues to heat up, as the pressure each team feels is slowly increasing with the NHL trade deadline only six weeks away. Injuries have taken a toll on many teams, and while they all understand their own identities by now, getting wins becomes that much harder. We have a great slate of nine games ahead of us on Tuesday night, so let's jump in and break down some key matchups.

Best NHL Parlay Picks Tonight - Tuesday, Jan. 23: 4-Leg Parlay Picks (+449) Vegas Golden Knights vs. New York Islanders Prediction and Pick

The Vegas Golden Knights are going through a tough stretch right now because they must win games without injured superstar Jack Eichel. The team has certainly managed to remain competitive without Eichel in the lineup, and its offense continues to shine. The Knights have scored at least four goals in three of their last four games and are 3-0-1 over that span.

Meanwhile, the New York Islanders have been in a different league offensively, having failed to score four goals in any of their last five games. The Islanders’ problem has really been their defense, because this team is allowing the NHL’s second-most shots on goal per game this season. That defensive weakness should create plenty of scoring opportunities for Vegas, which has been red-hot lately.

Unfortunately, just like the Islanders, the Golden Knights have had defensive struggles this season, which is why I like wagering on the total in this one. The Golden Knights are going to put up goals, so the Islanders, under new head coach Patrick Roy, recognize that it's time for them to start scoring. I can see Vegas reaching four goals in this game on Tuesday night, and there’s no reason the Islanders can’t score at least two.

Leg-1 Parlay Pick: Over 5.5 (-120)
Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Edmonton Oilers Prediction and Pick

The Columbus Blue Jackets cross the border on Tuesday night to begin a five-game road trip that starts with three dates in Canada. Their first opponent, the Edmonton Oilers, just happens to be the hottest team in the NHL, so winning will be a tall task on Tuesday night. Columbus and Edmonton are meeting for the first time this season, and the Blue Jackets will come away wishing it was their last meeting, because this game is going to get ugly in a hurry. The Oilers had a rough start to their 2023-24 NHL season, but since changing head coaches, they have looked like the powerhouse team everyone expected them to be this season and are currently on a franchise-record 13-game winning streak. The Oilers have the fourth-best offense in hockey, and their defense is improving. On the other hand, Columbus is one of the worst teams in the NHL – allowing the league’s third-most shots per game -- so the floodgates will be open for Edmonton on Tuesday night, and the Oilers should be able to run up the score. Give me Edmonton in regulation in this one to save on some juice.

Leg-2 Parlay Pick: Edmonton Oilers Win/Draw/Win (-240)

Buffalo Sabres vs. Anaheim Ducks Prediction and Pick

The Buffalo Sabres visit Anaheim on Tuesday night to face the Ducks for the first time in the 2023-24 season. This matchup is an interesting one, because these teams are going in opposite directions. The Sabres are starting to heat up, having gone 5-3-0 in January, while the Ducks are barely treading water at 2-7-1 this month. The Sabres’ offense is scoring goals, and the Ducks’ offense remains one of the worst in the NHL. Defensively, the Ducks allow the league’s fifth-most shots per game, which is no recipe for success for an Anaheim team starting John Gibson (.899 save percentage) in goal on Tuesday night. Look for the Sabres to have their way with Gibson and the Ducks, as Buffalo should leave Anaheim with a commanding victory.

Leg-3 Parlay Pick: Buffalo Sabres ML (-160)
New York Rangers vs. San Jose Sharks Prediction and Pick

The New York Rangers conclude their four-game road trip against Western Conference teams on Tuesday night at San Jose, where they will face a Sharks team coming off its biggest win of the 2023-24 season. On Monday night, the Sharks beat the Kings at Los Angeles in an overtime shootout. They now come home for the second game of a back-to-back set hoping to pull off another upset against the Rangers. To all those who have been reading these pregame articles throughout the season, I first want to say thank you for your continued loyalty and support. Second, I want to remind you that you already know how I feel about teams playing the second game of back-to-backs. Not only are the Sharks the worst team in the NHL, but having to travel overnight to play less than 24 hours later against a good team like the Rangers is a steep ask. The Rangers have had an up-and-down month of January, but it will be smooth sailing for them on Tuesday night.

Leg-4 Parlay Pick: New York Rangers ML (-330)
