NFL Divisional Round Player Prop Best Bets Today

Christian McCaffrey

The Packers annihilated the Cowboys last weekend in what was a very embarrassing loss for America’s Team. I couldn’t help but wonder why the Cowboys didn’t run the ball more against Green Bay’s 28th-ranked rush defense. They are giving up 128 yards per game on the ground and San Francisco will not be making the same mistake.

The 49ers are at their best when they run the ball, making this an ideal matchup for Kyle Shanahan’s offense. Their 140 rushing yards per game is third best in the league and Kyle Shanahan prefers to keep the ball in Christian McCaffrey’s hands wherever possible. Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason are rarely called upon in big games, which means we should expect to see another heavy dose of CMC. When CMC roles, the 49ers normally win.

McCaffrey passed this line of 91.5 yards 6 times in the last 8 games of the season, and the Packers' poor run defense suggests he should get it done again with ease this week. It’s a must-bet in my opinion.

The Pick: Christian McCaffrey Over 91.5 Rushing Yards (-125)

Devin Singletary

Devin Singletary has now got a stranglehold over the backfield touches in Houston. He came into the season as the assumptive backup to Dameon Pierce but has massively outperformed the sophomore running back. Last week, Singletary registered 66 yards on just 13 carries, pounding the Browns into submission early in the game and not letting them stop to catch their breath.

He is a fantastic backfield companion for CJ Stroud and will need to be a big part of the game plan this week against Baltimore. Houston will need Singletary to help them keep a balanced offense, and with the Ravens set to post a good total, I expect him to be used a lot in the passing game.

Singletary had two catches very early in the game against the Browns. He registered a third catch on the day but wasn’t required much in the second half due to the lopsided scorecard. In a game where the Texans are underdogs and will have their work cut out when passing down the field, I think Singletary should easily see more than three targets. There will be plenty of checkdowns going around and the Texans have shown that Singletary is the running back they want on the field.

Pierce only had 3 carries and no targets last week. He has also only registered 6 targets since week 5, which shows how much of a back seat he has taken. Singletary, on the other hand, averaged 3 targets per game over the last 5 weeks of the season and should see more than that in a pass-heavy game script this week against the Ravens.

The Pick: Devin Singletary Over 2.5 Receptions (-134)

Mike EvansBaker Mayfield spread the ball around a lot last week, but there is no doubt that Mike Evans is his true alpha receiver. Evans and Mayfield have combined for 1,255 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns this year, and the Detroit secondary is an ideal matchup.

Detroit is giving up the third most passing yards per game (253) this year, and their toughness against the run should only encourage Baker to throw the ball more. Mike Evans was a couple of drops away from a massive game last week, resulting in an underwhelming box score of 3 catches for 48 yards. The Lions will do well to limit him to that this week.

I expect the Lions to lead the way in this game, which will mean that the Buccaneers should need to rely on a pass-heavy game script. This will look even more appealing for Tampa as an alternative to running against a Lions defensive line that has limited opponents to just 3.7 yards per carry.

Evans is the perfect companion for Baker Mayfield, who doesn’t pass up many opportunities to throw the ball deep. Evans still has the speed and his ability to make contested catches is up there with the best in the league. Puka Nacua had 181 yards against this Lions secondary last week and I think Evans should get similar treatment this week.

The Pick: Mike Evans over 71.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Rashee Rice

Rashee Rice has really separated himself as the number-one wide receiver in Kansas City. In fact, he might even have overtaken Travis Kelce as the number one pass catcher for Patrick Mahomes.

The struggles experienced by this year’s disjointed Chiefs offense came as a result of sloppy wide receiver errors, leading to some unusually frantic games from Patrick Mahomes. Travis Kelce has been guilty of mishaps on his end as well, letting a couple of passes slip through his fingers last week against the Dolphins.

The player to emerge as the most reliable option has been rookie Rashee Rice. In what was a fantastic Wild Card Round for rookie performances, Rashee Rice played his part by corralling 8 receptions for 130 yards and a score against Miami’s talented secondary. He led the team in receiving yards and receptions, and aside from Travis Kelce, only one other player had more than one target.

This offense is Rashee Rice, Travis Kelce and Isiah Pacheco. No one else can be trusted. As a result, a line of 70.5 for Rice looks very appealing. The Buffalo Bills should put up points in their building and I expect the Chiefs to have to pass to keep themselves in the game. Even if they aren't forced into a pass-heavy game script, Rashee Rice’s share of the targets is so high that I see him reaching this mark regardless of how the game plays out.

The Pick: Rashee Rice Over 69.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
