Top NFL Player-Prop Bets for Week 10

Rachaad White

Here's something I don't usually get to do. I'm going to stick with Tampa Bay running back Rachaad White's receiving yards for a second straight week because it's one of the most comfortable lines I've discovered in my research this week.

Last week, we picked the Bucs running back to go over his 27.5 receiving-yardage line against the Houston Texans, which he managed to do comfortably with four catches for 46 yards. That makes three weeks in a row in which White has totaled four or more catches, and he is averaging more than 60 yards per game in that span.

While last week's matchup might have been more favorable for a receiving back, this week’s game against the Titans should be manageable as well.

The Titans just played Pittsburgh, which threw to running back Jaylen Warren three times and RB Najee Harris twice for a total of 32 receiving yards. I can see Rachaad White having at least four catches in this one once again, resulting in 35-plus receiving yards on the day.

Despite his continued success as a pass-catching back, White’s line is actually down from last week, so I will happily take it.

The Pick: Rachaad White Over 23.5 Receiving Yards (-120)

Travis Etienne

The San Francisco 49ers have allowed NFL opponents the league’s second-highest number of receptions by running backs this season. Teams are targeting their running backs consistently against this Niners defense, turning to their quick-game offense against one of the NFLs primary pass rushes.

San Francisco’s defense got better with the addition of defensive end Chase Young at the trade deadline, so holding on to the football for long periods of time just won’t be an option for Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence when he faces the 49ers on Sunday.

Lawrence was sacked by Pittsburgh three times in his team’s 20-10 win over Pittsburgh last week. Under that pressure, he threw to running back Travis Etienne three times. One of those passes resulted in a 56-yard gain, and Ettienne finished his day with 70 total receiving yards.

Etienne has caught at least three passes in each of his last six games, and has reached at least 24 receiving yards in each of the past four. The upside is huge, but the floor seems to be three catches for 25 or more yards.

Given the consistency Etienne offers out of the backfield -- and the very talented 49ers front seven that the Jags will face this weekend -- I expect to see Etienne have one of his biggest receiving days of the season.

San Francisco’s opponents’ running backs have averaged a total of seven catches per game in 2023. That looks good to me when it comes to Etienne’s performance this weekend.

The Pick: Travis Etienne Over 22.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Justin Herbert

I believe this is a week when Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert will have to throw a lot. The Detroit Lions, who will face the Chargers in L.A., boast a high-volume, vertical offense with the potential to score a significant number of points.

The Chargers currently have the worst pass defense in the NFL -- allowing a heavy 286 passing yards per game. Chargers cornerbacks Michael Davis and Ja’Sir Taylor are being targeted on the opposite side of Asante Samuel, and they’re struggling in coverage with their linebackers over the middle of the field.

From a neutral fan’s perspective, this will likely be the game of the week. There should be plenty of points, which creates an opportunity for Herbert to remind critics that he is capable of a 300-plus passing yardage day with multiple touchdowns.

However, the Chargers have been without wide receiver Josh Palmer for a couple of weeks now and recently placed him on IR. Without him, they’re now down another weapon after losing fellow receiver Mike Williams to a season-ending ACL injury back in Week 3.

Herbert’s top target, Keenan Allen, is superb, but he needs some help. Allen and running back Austin Ekeler are not going to get Herbert over 270 passing yards by themselves, and I don’t see anybody else likely to step up for a big day just yet.

Rookie receiver Quentin Johnston has been somewhat disappointing so far this season. He has struggled to pick up consistent targets and make the most of those targets when they come. If that’s the case again on Sunday, I just don’t see how Justin Herbert hits this line.

The Lions’ defense receives a bad rap, and at times, it has been well deserved. Detroit allowed Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson to throw for 357 yards and three touchdowns on Oct. 22, but the Lions held Tampa Bay’s Baker Mayfield to just 206 yards one week earlier. After losing to the Ravens, Detroit bounced back to shut down Las Vegas Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo, limiting him to a woeful 126 passing yards.

Herbert should land in the 200s, but 270 feels like a stretch. I’ll take the under given the lack of depth and reliable options he has within the Chargers offense right now.

The Pick: Justin Herbert Under 269.5 Passing Yards (-115)

CeeDee Lamb

There are a few signs here that point toward the New York Giants’ defense stifling Dallas wide receiver CeeDee Lamb this weekend, but I’m still going with the over.

New York’s defense is actually pretty good. Despite the nightmare they are having on offense this year, the Giants have allowed 14 points or fewer in three of their last four games. They also rank in the top half of the NFL in pass defense -- allowing just over 200 passing yards per game.

However, Lamb is playing at a different level right now, and the Giants just don’t have the personnel to cover him one-on-one.

Lamb went from 117 receiving yards against the Chargers on Oct. 16 to 158 against the Rams on Oct. 29 to 194 against the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday. In my view, there’s just no way that the Giants will keep him under 100.

With the receiving-yardage line set at 78.5, I’m backing Lamb to have another eight or more receptions for at least 100 yards in what should be a comfortable win for the Cowboys. Tommy DeVito will be starting at quarterback for the Giants, and the Cowboys defense should be able to force him off the field, allowing plenty of opportunities for Dallas QB Dak Prescott to find his star receiver and build up a strong stat line on Sunday.

The Pick: Ceedee Lamb Over 78.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
