The football season returns in a matter of days, and we’re preparing for it with NFL futures bets for the entire NFC, including projected NFC East, NFC North, NFC South, NFC West division champions and NFC championship odds for the coming season. We will also examine some NFL betting odds and uncover a couple of sleeper picks to make a run in the postseason.

The Eagles emerged as the frontrunners last season and came agonizingly close to claiming a win in the Super Bowl against Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts played incredibly well on the biggest stage and was rewarded with a mammoth contract from the Eagles during the offseason.

Let’s get into some NFC Championship odds as we make our picks for the division.

Who is favored to win the AFC Championship?

The AFC championship odds have the Kansas City Chiefs as the favorites, closely followed by both the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. Over the past five years, NFL future bets on Mahomes and the Chiefs to win the conference have paid out more often than not, since Kansas City has made it to the Super Bowl three times in the five years that Mahomes has been in charge.

This year, it feels as though the Chiefs are well set defensively with a young secondary that proved itself last season and a linebacker group that was dealing punishment all year.

The Chris Jones holdout situation is one to watch closely, but the Chiefs roster looks great, the offense looks dangerous, and Mahomes has proven that he can win with anyone playing alongside him.

Buffalo comes in second in the NFL futures odds for the AFC, and the Bengals and Jets round out the top four. While those teams might be the favorites, both Baltimore and Miami ended up in the playoffs last year despite QB injuries, and both crashed out without being able to play their starter in the postseason. If those two teams have a healthy QB, they could be a real threat.

2023-24 AFC Championship Predictions and Best Bet

The +333 AFC odds for the Kansas City Chiefs make them the obvious choice here. Everybody loves shaking things up and being a little different, but how can you confidently bet against this team?

Last year the Chiefs brought in receivers Juju Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to play alongside Mahomes, and they went on to win the Super Bowl. This year, MVS is still around but Juju is gone, and the offense will now turn to receivers Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, and rookie Rashee Rice.

Mahomes already proved that Tyreek Hill’s departure didn’t change a thing, and that was impressive by itself. Now, as pundits and bettors, it’s tough to find a single reason to bet against the duo of Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. The Chiefs’ scheme, paired with Mahomes’ ability to improvise and make quite literally any throw at any angle makes them the team to beat, and they’re my pick here.

The Pick: Kansas City Chiefs to win the AFC championship (+333)

Having said that, the New York Jets would be a fun bet. Suddenly, fans are starting to warm to Aaron Rodgers, with his personality coming through in both “Hard Knocks” and the “One Jets Drive” series on the Jets’ YouTube channel.

New York’s roster seems fired up to have Rodgers around, and young talents Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner shouldn’t be overlooked. Robert Saleh is a great defensive coach, and Aaron Rodgers is basically a coach on the field at this point.

The Jets will be one of the most dangerous teams in the AFC East, and a conference championship game against the Chiefs would guarantee fireworks.

Don’t get me wrong, the Bills and the Bengals are still some of the best NFL futures bets in the conference, but the Jets are an interesting choice at +700.
