Tonight, we have the overachieving Houston Rockets (15-13) taking on the underachieving Phoenix Suns (14-15) at the Footprint Center in Arizona, where the Suns will eventually have Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal playing together. Injuries are a part of the game, and they have been taking out some of the NBA’s biggest names in recent days, including Joel Embiid and Victor Wembanyama.

Beal is out again tonight with an ankle injury that will be reevaluated in the first week of January, while the Rockets will not have Victor Oladipo and may be without Dillon Brooks, who strained an oblique muscle last night in a loss to the Indiana Pacers.

The Suns are favored by 1.5 points, and they have gone just 4-9-0 as a home favorite. The Rockets have gone 5-6-1 as a road underdog.

Şengün has scored 37 and 30 points in his last two games, and tonight he may not have to go up against Jusuf Nurkic, who is day-to-day for personal reasons. For those two reasons, going for 35 points is not really a reach.

Leg-2 SGP Pick: Devin Booker assists 10+ (+270)

Booker has become the de facto point guard for the Suns, and he had 10 assists on Christmas against the Dallas Mavericks in a 14-point loss. He is in a shooting slump, having made only 2 of his last 12 3-pointers, so we want nothing to do with him scoring points or making shots. But dishing dimes? He has Kevin Durant and Grayson Allen playing well alongside him, and he has had 10 assists or more twice this month.

The Pick: Devin Booker to have at least 10 assists (+270).

Leg-3 SGP Pick: Grayson Allen to make 3+ 3-pointers (+225).

Allen was picked up from Milwaukee in the offseason to be a shooter, and he has been thrusted into a starting role due to the injury to Beal. On Christmas, he shot 17 3-pointers against the Mavericks. Yes, sev-en-teen. He made eight of them. Chances are, he can make three tonight.

The Pick: Grayson Allen to make at least three 3-pointers (+225).

Leg-4 SGP: Kevin Durant to score 35+ points (+320)

Durant is coming off his worst game of the season, a 16-point outing in which he played 43 minutes and made only four of 11 shots. He had only been held below 20 points once before, when he scored 18 against Golden State in the season opener and came back the next game with 39. This pick is predicated on that event repeating itself.

The Pick: Kevin Durant to score 35 or more points (+320).
