Warriors vs. Suns Predictions and Best Bets

We have now waited six whole weeks to see Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal to step onto the court together as the Phoenix Suns’ superstar trio. Injuries to Durant and Beal have kept it from happening.

But Beal is expected to play for the first time in a month as his problematic back issue is now better, and Frank Vogel will  have the final three-quarters of the season to figure out how those three can best be used together, and which complimentary players fit best surrounding them.

It is not a bad problem to have, and the Suns are in OK shape after playing 22 games, winning 12, sitting in a tie for eighth place in the West with the Los Angeles Clippers. They have plenty of time to figure this out and remain one of the favorites to win the NBA championship, sitting at +700 as the fourth shortest odds behind the Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks.

This will be a home game for the Suns, and we should expect the TNT crew to focus their cameras on new owner Mat Ishbia, the billionaire who purchased the team last spring and will be spending a significant amount of money on luxury tax payments in an effort to get this franchise its first championship. (They reached the finals in 2021, 1996 and 1993 and lost all three times).

None of the Suns’ gambling trends matter tonight because they have not yet played with their Big Three. As for the Warriors, they are 12-10-0 on over/unders and 10-12-0 against the spread, including 6-2-0 as a road underdog – a number that is meaningful because they are 3 ½-point underdogs tonight. Neither team has played since Friday as both lost, and it is notable that the Warriors have gone over in nine of their last 13 games.

Best NBA Same Game Parlay Warriors vs Suns – Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023: 3-Leg Parlay (+5000)

Leg-1 SGP Pick: Devin Booker 10+ assists (+370)

Booker leads the Suns in assists per game at 8.1, and tonight he has another superstar to throw the ball to as Beal will be in uniform. The thinking here is that Beal should be worth at least two additional assists from Booker, a shooting guard who has become the de facto playmaker/primary ball handler in the post-Chris Paul era. Booker has reached double figures in assists four times this season while also scoring 27.4 points per game, and he has been quite close to triple-doubles in the past two games … something to watch for in the days and weeks ahead.

The Pick: Devin Booker to record at least 10 assists (+370).

Leg 2 SGP Pick: Warriors + 3 ½

This is the second game of a TNT doubleheader, and Scott Foster has not been assigned to the game, so at least we will not have to deal with another Chris Paul ejection as he plays against his former team. The fact that Paul will be playing against his former team adds a motivational component to this one, and 3 ½ is a nice line to play with because even if this game is won on a last second 3-pointer that breaks a tie, that provides for a cover.  The Dubs’ 6-2 record as a road ‘dog makes this a nice, safe parlay builder bet.

The Pick: Warriors +3 ½ against Suns

Leg-3 SGP Pick: Steph Curry 8+ rebounds

If you are looking for wagering value in Steph Curry’s point or assists totals, you will not find any. The guy is such a known commodity that unless you want to wager that he will score at least 40, you cannot find a line that builds a parlay with a decent payoff. But rebounds? Curry has gone for seven or more in seven games this season, including three of his last five. Since the Suns shoot a ton of 3s, and missed 3s result in long rebounds, this one is not all that farfetched and carries a nice price.

The Pick: Steph Curry to grab eight or more rebounds (+600).

Put those three wagers together in a parlay and it shows a +5000 return, meaning a $10 wager would return $510. The ball will need to bounce Curry’s way a little extra, and Booker will need a couple more of his passes to lead to buckets by the recipients, but neither of those is a reach. Good luck!
