Best NHL Player Prop Bets Today (10/26/23) - Thursday, October 26th

Nick Paul Center Nick Paul has his 2023-24 season off to a great start. Through his first seven games, Paul already has four goals. On Thursday night, his Tampa Bay Lightning team faces an inferior San Jose Sharks squad that allows the NHL’s most shots per game and the sixth-most goals per game. Since the Lightning are expected to win this game easily, it seems entirely likely that Paul, who plays on the Bolts’ second line, will get his fifth goal of the season. He has clearly established himself as a critical piece of Tampa Bay’s offense.

The Pick: Nick Paul anytime goalscorer (+225)
Seth Jarvis Carolina winger Sebastian Aho is back from an injury and ready to lead the Hurricanes offense again. While he was out, forward Seth Jarvis took over a bigger role for the Hurricanes and helped carry the load on offense. Having Aho back will certainly limit some of Jarvis’ opportunities, but it will also create opportunities, because Aho immediately becomes the focus for opposing defenses despite what Jarvis has been doing. On Thursday, the Hurricanes are facing a Seattle Kraken defense that allows opponents the NHL’s sixth-most shots on goal this season. The Kraken also just beat the Hurricanes 7-4 one week ago, so look for Carolina to have some extra motivation in this game.

The Pick: Seth Jarvis over 2.5 shots on goal (-110)
Cam Atkinson Flyers forward Cam Atkinson, who missed the entire 2022-23 NHL season with a neck injury, is back in action and as effective as ever Having Atkinson, who is currently the team’s second-leading scorer, back in the Flyers lineup has made a night-and-day difference for this team and is a major reason why Philadelphia has turned a corner this season. On Thursday, Atkinson goes against a Minnesota Wild defense that allows the league’s fifth-most shots on goal per game. Atkinson has registered at least three shots on goal in four of his six games this season. In each of the two other games, he had two shots on goal.

The Pick: Cam Atkinson over 2.5 shots on goal (-118)
Artemi Panarin New York Rangers winger Artemi Panarin was held off the scoresheet when the Blueshirts opened their Canadian road trip with a 3-1 win at Calgary on Tuesday night. Panarin was also held without a shot on goal for the first time this season. The Rangers’ game at Edmonton on Thursday has the potential to be a very high-scoring affair, since the Oilers have several skaters who can score in multiple way. Panarin will need to be aggressive in the offensive zone if his team plans to keep pace with Edmonton. Prior to Tuesday, Panarin had not had fewer than four shots on goal in any game since registering three in the season-opener. Look for him to be keep the pressure on Edmonton’s net as the Rangers go for another win in Western Canada.

The Pick: Artemi Panarin over 2.5 shots on goal (-125)
