Best NHL Player Prop Bets for Wednesday, December 13. 2023 Sidney Crosby The Pittsburgh Penguins will continue to lean on their superstar for the rest of the season as they look to get out of their recent rut. Finally getting their first win in December on Tuesday night, the Penguins draw an inferior Montreal Canadiens team on Wednesday night and will look to start a winning streak. While it’s always hard playing on a back-to-back, the Penguins still hold the advantage as the Canadiens are simply not good. With goaltender Tristan Jarry on the bench, as he played on Tuesday night in their 4-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes, the Penguins will have to rely on their offense again on Wednesday night to come out victorious. That means an aggressive dose from center Sidney Crosby is expected. The Canadiens allow the fourth most shots on goal to opposing skaters this season, so we’ll be targeting Crosby’s shots on goal for Wednesday night. Crosby has exceeded his current prop total in five of his last six games.

The Pick: Sidney Crosby over 3.5 shots on goal (-138)
Bo Horvat Center Bo Horvat has started to come on strong for the New York Islanders and they’ll look to him on Wednesday night as they host the Anaheim Ducks. Horvat has scored three goals over his last five games and will look to add another one at home on Wednesday night. The Ducks allow the seventh most goals per game and goaltender John Gibson has not looked like himself this season. Look for Horvat to continue to carry the load offensively and to help lead New York to victory.

The Pick: Bo Horvat anytime goalscorer (+175)
Nathan MacKinnon Center Nathan MacKinnon is without question one of the best players in hockey. When Colorado hosts Buffalo on Wednesday night expect to see a heavy dose of MacKinnon as this Sabres team will not be able to stop him. MacKinnon has scored 12 goals this season and has scored a goal in four out of his last five games. The Sabres allow 3.28 goals per game and starting goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is no match for MacKinnon. If MacKinnon gets in open space like he did on Monday night against the Calgary Flames then it's all but over for Luukkonen and this Sabres defense.

The Pick: Nathan MacKinnon anytime goalscorer (-125)
Josh Morrissey Defenseman Josh Morrissey was very aggressive in their loss to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night which stings for Winnipeg as they’ll draw one of the best teams in hockey in the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night. Morrissey had seven shots on goal, which marked a season-high for the defenseman. While it would make sense to think that the Jets will go back to Morrissey on Wednesday night, that’s not likely the case as Morrissey and the rest of this Jets team will have their hands full with a very aggressive Kings offense. The Jets as it is aren’t a very aggressive offensive team as defense is more of their specialty. Look for the Jets to be backed up on defense for a majority of this game and on a second leg of a back-to-back expect a low performance out of a lot of Jets players for Wednesday night.

The Pick: Josh Morrissey under 2.5 shots on goal (-138)
