Best NHL Player-Prop Bets to consider for Tuesday, February 13, 2024 Andrei Vasilevskiy Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy has been the backbone of the Tampa Bay Lightning defense for quite some time now. He missed the start of this season recovering from back surgery, but since a late November return, he is 17-11-0 with a .901 save percentage and 2.79 goals-against average. The Lightning will need to lean on their star goalie Tuesday night when they visit the Boston Bruins. Boston is scoring the NHL’s eighth-most goals per game this season and will surely test a Bolts team that has improved defensively after giving up a lot of shots on goal to start the season. Tampa’s defense has played particularly well over Vasilevskiy’s last few starts, but the Bruins present a big challenge on Tuesday. Look for Vasilevskiy respond.

The Pick: Andrei Vasilevskiy over 25.5 saves (-118)
Troy Terry
Right wing Troy Terry has been one of Anaheim’s top players this season. He leads the Ducks with 22 assists and ranks second in points with 37 -- just one shy of team leader Frank Vatrano. On Tuesday, Terry’s Ducks face an inferior Montreal Canadiens defense that allows the NHL’s fourth-most goals and third-most shots on goal per game. Look for Terry and the Ducks to exploit Montreal’s defensive weakness and likely be in control for the entire evening. He has exceeded his current shots-on-goal prop total in three of his last five games.

The Pick: Troy Terry over 2.5 shots on goal (-125)
Petr Mrazek Other than the play of rookie Connor Bedard, there haven't been too many bright spots for this season’s Chicago Blackhawks. However, goaltender Petr Mrazek is one of them. While Mrazek’s 12-20-0 record is a reflection of his team’s struggles, his .910 save percentage –- a stat he personally controls -- shows how well he has been playing. On Tuesday night, the Blackhawks, who are allowing the NHL’s fifth-most shots per game this season, will host Vancouver, the highest-scoring team in the league. In other words, Mrazek will certainly have his hands full. In a game where Mrazek will see upwards of 30 to 35 shots, I like him to exceed his prop total for saves on Tuesday night.

The Pick: Petr Mrazek over 27.5 saves (-111)
Stuart Skinner The Edmonton Oilers faced the Detroit Red Wings on Jan. 11 in a game that featured two scoreless periods before the teams erupted for a total of four in the third. It was a surprise to see the Oilers and Wings go 40 minutes without scoring, because these are two of the NHL’s top six teams when it comes to goals per game. I expect this rematch to follow a different script, and both offenses will test each other early. A month ago, Edmonton outshot the Red Wings 47-18 in Detroit, so if the Wings want a chance to win this game, they can’t hang goaltender Alex Lyon out to dry the way they did in the first matchup. Look for Detroit to be very aggressive in the offensive zone on Tuesday night, which means Edmonton goalie Stuart Skinner, who did not play in the Oilers’ OT road win on Jan. 11, will be fending off a lot of shots.

The Pick: Stuart Skinner over 24.5 saves (-111)
