With just about two and a half weeks remaining until the start of March (i.e. college basketball’s most exciting month), things are really heating up as far as the NCAA Tournament picture. Teams on the bubble and those on the outside looking in are now feeling the pressure of every possession, because any wins they pick up during the regular season’s final stretch could be the difference between qualifying or missing out on March Madness.

Indeed, some games are already starting to feel like win-or-go-home situations, which makes for plenty of must-watch television. Let's take a moment to dive into Wednesday’s college hoops schedule to identify four best bets.

College Basketball Best Bets Today: Picks and Parlays for Wednesday, Feb. 14 (+412)

Miami vs. Clemson Prediction and Pick

The Miami Hurricanes’ 2023-24 season hasn’t gone as planned after the team’s remarkable run to last season’s Final Four, yet there is still plenty of time for Miami to get back on track before this year’s NCAA Tournament. The Hurricanes have been dealing with injuries throughout the season, but it now appears that they will be fully healthy for Wednesday’s rematch against ACC rival Clemson.

Hurricanes junior guard Nijel Pack and freshman guard Kyshawn George both appear to be healthy and should be able to play on Wednesday night. Pack scored 25 points when Miami beat Clemson 95-82 at home in the teams’ earlier meeting on Jan. 3, and he will look to help lead the way in this rematch on the road. Miami trailed the first game 41-35 at halftime, but over the final 20 minutes, a then-fully healthy group of Hurricanes showed their great offensive potential when they rang up 60 second-half points for the win.

Expect consistency from Miami’s scorers in both halves Wednesday night, as the Hurricanes also work hard to challenge Clemson’s shooters. If Miami can slow down Tigers 6-foot-10 big man PJ Hall and force a poor shooting performance by Clemson senior guard Joseph Girard III, then the Hurricanes should be able to pull off an upset victory. I like Miami to win outright here, but the points are just too good to pass up.

Leg-1 Parlay Pick: Miami +7.5 (-115)
St. Bonaventure vs. Fordham Prediction and Pick

It is “put up or shut up” time for the St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team, which came into the season expecting to qualify for the 2024 NCAA Tournament. That March Madness bid is now looking quite cloudy, and the Bonnies might have to win the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament if they still plan on going to the Big Dance.

Given the fact that this team has talented senior guards Charles Pride and Mika Adams-Wood in its backcourt and Chad Venning down in the post, there is no reason for St. Bonaventure to be only 14-9 and in eighth place in the A-10 standings right now.

Nevertheless, the Bonnies head into Wednesday night’s game at Fordham in exactly that position. Fordham beat St. Bonaventure 80-74 when the teams met for a Jan. 13 game on the Bonnies’ home court. The Rams really controlled that game from start to finish.

Defense has been the big issue for St. Bonaventure this season. The Bonnies can score, but they routinely go through stretches where they can’t stop anyone on the opposing team.  As a result, whenever they hit a scoring slump of their own, they completely take themselves out of games.

Look for St. Bonaventure to play consistent defense for 40 minutes on Wednesday in their pursuit of a strong finish to the regular season.

Leg 2 Parlay Pick: St. Bonaventure ML (-167)
No. 11 South Carolina vs. No. 13 Auburn Prediction and Pick South Carolina has completely shocked the college basketball world in 2023-24. No one could have predicted that at this point in the season the Gamecocks (21-3) would be sitting atop the SEC in such a dominant fashion. Not only that, but apart from a 74-47 loss at Alabama and a 74-69 home loss to Georgia, the Gamecocks haven’ really been tested in SEC play. That will change on Wednesday, however, when South Carolina visits Neville Arena to face the Auburn Tigers.

This will be a true test for a Gamecocks team that is only now really starting to get taken seriously by the experts. Freshman forward Collin Murray-Boyles is coming off a 31-point performance against Vanderbilt on Saturday – a game that followed back-to-back 16-point efforts vs. Georgia and Mississippi. Murray-Boyles’ fellow forward B.J. Mack also showed his range on Saturday by making five 3-pointers against the Commodores.

South Carolina is trying to show the college basketball world that it’s for real and belongs in the national-championship conversation. If the Gamecocks can upset Auburn in what should be college basketball’s game of the night on Wednesday, they could really prove their point. On the other hand, they are still a double-digit underdog going into this one, so I’m going to play it safe here and boost our parlay a bit by picking Auburn to win outright.

Leg 3 Parlay Pick: Auburn ML (-700)
UNLV vs. Fresno State Prediction and Pick

The Mountain West is going to shock a lot of people in March, because several highly talented players can be found in that conference this season. One of those talented teams is the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels, who visit the Fresno State Bulldogs on Wednesday night. These two schools met just over two weeks ago on the Rebels’ court, where the home team controlled the game from start to finish for a 78-69 win.

The Mountain West has some talented teams, but unfortunately for Bulldogs fans Fresno State isn’t one of them. UNLV jumped out to a 20-5 lead in the first half of the Jan 30 matchup and never really looked back.

When fully healthy, the Rebels can start five players who are all averaging double-digit point totals this season. Although senior forward Jalen Hill is hurt and will miss this game, UNLV remains a very lethal team that will make some noise in the postseason and might even find its way into the NCAA Tournament.

Leg 4 Parlay Pick: UNLV ML (-200)
