We are two days removed from a great weekend of hockey – one that featured a particularly thrilling game between the Los Angeles Kings and Seattle Kraken. That game, played Saturday at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, went nine rounds deep into an overtime shootout before the visitors ultimately prevailed 3-2 on a goal by Carl Grundstrom. The Boston Bruins and New York Rangers, the Eastern Conference’s top two teams, also went to overtime on Saturday, where the Blueshirts won 2-1 on Vincent Trocheck’s second goal of the game.

The current week is already off to a fast start. On Monday night in Dallas, the Seattle Kraken stormed back from a 2-0 second-period deficit and then tied the game 3-3 with 22 seconds left in the third period before falling to the Stars in OT. It was an emotional game that was typical of what we are starting to see as the end of the 2023 portion of this season approaches. Tuesday offers an action-packed slate of 11 NHL games, so let’s take a closer look at some key wagering opportunities.

Best NHL Parlays - Tuesday, Dec. 19: 4-Leg Parlay Picks (+472)

Minnesota Wild vs. Boston Bruins Prediction and Pick

The Boston Bruins host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night, and both teams will be looking to get back on a winning track after losing their most recent games. The Bruins fell to the New York Rangers in a 2-1 overtime heartbreaker on Saturday. It was Boston’s fifth OT loss of the season, which raises some concern about this Bruins team. Boston needs to do a better job of finishing off opponents in regulation, and the B’s will have a golden opportunity to do that on Tuesday against a middle-of-the-pack Wild team.

Minnesota isn’t particularly great in either the offensive or defensive zones, but the Wild aren’t horrible, either. Linus Ullmark, last year’s Vezina Trophy winner as the NHL’s top netminder, is expected to start in goal for the Bruins, and his.915 save percentage reflects the fact that he has been one of the league’s most consistent goaltenders over the past two seasons. Give me the Bruins on the moneyline in front of their own fans, because this team is 10-2-2 at home this season.

Leg-1 Parlay Pick: Boston Bruins ML (-190)
Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Buffalo Sabres Prediction and Pick

This is a matchup of two young teams that have struggled to find consistency this season. The Buffalo Sabres, who have been beset by injuries, have made some important strides this month with upset victories over the Boston Bruins and Vegas Golden Knights. Sabres goaltender Devon Levi is expected to start on Tuesday night, and although a few games have gotten away from him this season, he has been playing very well as of late. He held Boston to only one goal on 32 shots earlier in the month and just made 33 saves in a 5-2 win at Vegas on Friday. While the Sabres’ offense hasn’t looked as lethal as it did a season ago, Buffalo will get a chance to shine on Tuesday night against one of the worst defenses in the NHL. The Blue Jackets have given up at least five goals in each of their last three games. It really seems as though Columbus has been helpless in its own zone for much of this season.

Leg-2 Parlay Pick: Buffalo Sabres ML (-180)

Edmonton Oilers vs. New York Islanders Prediction and Pick

Ever since the firing of former head coach Jay Woodcroft on Nov. 12, the Edmonton Oilers have looked like a completely different team. They have unfortunately lost their two most recent games, but prior to that, the Oilers enjoyed an eight-game winning streak. Their offensive production was particularly impressive during that run, as Edmonton averaged 4.8 goals per game. Indeed, the Oilers are lethal in the attacking zone, which is not good news for the Islanders and goaltender Ilya Sorokin, who will start in net against Edmonton on Tuesday. An outstanding goalie for most of his career, Sorokin has struggled at times this season. Those struggles haven’t been helped by his team’s poor defensive play. The Islanders allow the NHL’s second-most shots on goal per game this season, which is hardly a recipe for success against Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and their Oilers teammates. I expect the visitors to dominate this game offensively, and I don’t think this Islanders defense can do much about it. Give me Edmonton on the road.

Leg-3 Parlay Pick: Edmonton Oilers ML (-135)
Los Angeles Kings vs. San Jose Sharks Prediction and Pick

The Los Angeles Kings had something of a scare on Saturday night, because they needed nine rounds of an overtime shootout to win 3-2 at Seattle. It was a real nail-biter for fans of both teams, but the favored team came out on top in the end. Having won that game, the Kings don’t need of a bounce-back victory on Tuesday but they will certainly not want to risk being embarrassed again on the road in San Jose. The Kings are set to face a Sharks team that is without question the worst in the NHL. Nevertheless, these Sharks have had some Cinderella moments in upset victories this season, so the Kings can’t take them lightly. I expect the Kings to establish their dominance early in this game, so give me Los Angeles on the moneyline. Kings goalie Cam Talbot, who is expected to start, has looked like one of the NHL’s best netminders this season, and his teammates do a great job limiting the number of shots that get through to him.

Leg-4 Parlay Pick: Los Angeles Kings ML (-260)
