We are at the midway point of the sixth week of the 2023-24 NHL season, and 18 of the league’s 32 teams will be in action on Thursday night. Some of hockey’s best teams are included in this packed schedule, as is rookie sensation Connor Bedard, whose Chicago Blackhawks face Tampa Bay. So, get your popcorn ready, and let’s dive into this busy Thursday night slate.

Best NHL Parlays Today - Thursday, Nov. 16, 4-Leg Parlay Picks (+362) Vegas Golden Knights vs. Montreal Canadiens Prediction and Pick

November has not been good to the Vegas Golden Knights, who are only 3-3 this month and fresh off a 3-0 loss at Washington on Tuesday. The shutout loss to the Capitals would have been a one-goal game if it hadn’t been inflated by two empty-net goals. Vegas’ offense has yet to show any degree of consistency this month, because the Knights averaged just one goal per game over their three November losses. Meanwhile, the Montreal Canadiens have also faced tough times in November -- losing five of seven games. Indeed, the Habs have not looked good at all. These teams met earlier in the season on Oct. 30, when a late goal from Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki tied the game at 2-2 before it all came down to an OT shootout, where Vegas prevailed. Since both teams are trending downward, bettors have a nice buy-low spot here because the Golden Knights are still by far the superior team in this matchup. Vegas allows the third-fewest goals to NHL opponents, and even though the Knights’ offense has seen a slight decline this month, it is still one of the league’s top 10. We’ll take the Golden Knights in the first leg of our Thursday night parlay.

Leg-1 Parlay Pick: Vegas Golden Knights ML (-200)
New Jersey Devils vs. Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction and Pick

The New Jersey Devils and Pittsburgh Penguins face off on Thursday night in a Metropolitan Division matchup. Both teams are looking to get back on track, so this game should make for some must-see television. New Jersey goaltender Vitek Vanecek and Pittsburgh netminder Tristan Jarry have both played well this season, and it’s entirely possible that the team scoring first in this game could go on to win. These teams are tied for seventh in the league in scoring with 3.64 goals per game, but the Devils have been inconsistent at both ends of the ice. Given this concern, I will go with New Jersey on the adjusted line for Thursday night. I suspect this will be a close game, but as we saw in Vegas’ loss at Washington on Tuesday, a one-goal margin can escalate quickly after the trailing team pulls its goalie. So, the adjusted line is the play for this second leg of our parlay.

Leg 2 Parlay Pick: New Jersey Devils +2.5 (-350) 

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Chicago Blackhawks Prediction and Pick

The Tampa Bay Lightning got some great news this week when goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy returned to practice for the first time since his preseason back surgery. The star netminder’s season debut could come sooner rather than later. When Tampa gets him back, it will be a huge boost for the Bolts, because current goaltenders Jonas Johansson and Matt Tomkins have cost them some games despite the strength of their offense. Meanwhile, the 5-8-0 Chicago Blackhawks have definitely surprised some experts this season. Chicago rookie sensation Connor Bedard is everything and more than he was supposed to be for his new team. He has not only settled into the NHL, but he has also been dominating this season and has scored two goals in each of his last two games. While Bedard has boosted this Blackhawks offense, the defense has been helped by the emergence of goaltender Petr Mrazek. Although Mrazek’s win-loss record doesn’t reflect how well he has played, his .921 save percentage certainly does. Although he is already age 31, Mrazek is a rising star in goal for Chicago. I expect this to be a high-scoring game since the Lightning allow the NHL’s fourth-most goals this season, and Tampa Bay’s offense can score against anybody. We will avoid the total here because I also like the Blackhawks on the adjusted line. These teams faced each other a week ago in Florida, and Mrazek was phenomenal in making 30 saves. Although he allowed three goals, it hardly mattered on a night when the Blackhawks scored five, including two from Bedard. I think Chicago can win this game as well, although by the end of the season, I expect the Blackhawks to land outside the playoff picture. We’ll go with the adjusted line here to play it safe.

Leg 3 Parlay Pick: Chicago Blackhawks +2.5 (-300)
Florida Panthers vs. Los Angeles Kings Prediction and Pick

One of the NHL’s top Eastern Conference teams goes up against one of its top Western Conference teams when the Florida Panthers and the Los Angeles Kings hit the ice at 10:30 p.m. ET to close out Thursday night’s schedule. This game will be filled with talented players, so overtime is a definite possibility. The teams are evenly matched defensively, but the Kings have the offensive edge as the league’s second-highest scoring team this season. Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky will have his hands full on Thursday night, but luckily for him, the Panthers play pretty sound defense and allow the NHL’s fourth-fewest shots on goal pre game. Florida will have to hope that its defensemen can keep some of the Kings’ best skaters away from the goal as much as possible. Florida’s offense has gotten Bobrovsky out of some jams this season, but given the great goaltending we have seen by the Kings’ Cam Talbot and Los Angeles’ defensive performance as a whole, the Panthers’ offense won’t be able to bail out Bobrovsky on Thursday night. Give me the Kings to close out this parlay.
