With the 2023 college football season getting underway this weekend, it's time to take a look at the NCAA Football Southeastern Conference and the teams favored to win each SEC Division. We’ll run through the SEC’s betting odds for winning the SEC East, SEC West division, SEC championship, and consider some of the best college football futures bets for the upcoming season.

This year’s Georgia Bulldogs will be going after a third straight national championship, which would make them the first team since 1936 -- and only the second team in history -- to achieve a three-peat. They have outstanding odds to win the SEC East this season and rank No. 1 in the nation as far as their odds of winning college football’s national championship.

We will be looking at the college football betting odds for the Big 12, ACC, Big Ten, as well NCAAF Championship odds and odds to make college football playoff for the upcoming season. You will want to place those parlays and pick your conference winners before the season’s opening kickoff, so get ready for the season here with our best college football futures bets.

Favorites to win 2023 SEC East Division

Not that I want to write off the SEC East Division before the season starts, but I’d be stunned if any other team is able to compete with – let alone finish ahead of -- Georgia this season.

While the Bulldogs continue to retool and build what is arguably the best roster in college football year after year, their closest East challengers are rebuilding, facing struggles all over the field, or both.

Tennessee had a high-flying offense last season that enabled the Vols to come closest to Georgia’s 13-0 record with a second-place finish at 11-2. The Vols were scoring at such a high clip that their 44.5 points per game led the entire country, as former quarterback Hendon Hooker spent most of the season torching defenses with Tennessee’s vertical look on offense.

Hooker is now in the NFL, as are both Jalin Hyatt, who led the charge among receivers, and Cedric Tillman, is already showing his ability as a pro. There is certainly a way for the Vols to win 10-plus games again with Joe Milton III at quarterback, but getting any closer to Georgia than that is highly unlikely this year.

The Florida Gators have even more question marks this season with no proven wide receivers outside of Ricky Pearsall. Wisconsin transfer Graham Mertz will take over at quarterback, and while he has experience, this move does not exactly scream “national championship.”

Georgia’s SEC championship odds make the Bulldogs a clear favorite to win the division title once again this year, and there won’t be much reason to bet against that.

2023 College Football SEC East Winner Predictions and Best Bets

Don’t overthink this one, because Georgia should comfortably beat the other teams in the SEC East this year. Quarterback Carson Beck is ready, and the Bulldogs once again have the best defense in the country. These defensive players were all part of last season’s success, so Georgia hasn’t felt the need to bring in any transfers on that side of the ball. The Bulldogs already know they’ve got a great team.

In fact, the only transfer expected to start for Georgia is wide receiver Dominic Lovett, who had a strong year with Missouri last season.

Georgia’s SEC East odds are -500 for a reason, so let’s just go ahead, chalk this one up, and move on.

The Pick: Georgia Bulldogs to win the SEC East (-500)

Odds to win SEC West 2023

Alabama +100
LSU +175
Texas A&M +550
Mississippi +2000
Arkansas +3000
Auburn +3000
Mississippi State +5000
Favorites to win 2023 SEC West DivisionThis one feels like a two-horse race between Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide and Brian Kelly’s LSU Tigers.

Alabama is the slight favorite, which is fair given the talent on its roster and the Crimson Tide’s elite coaching staff. This felt like a young team last year, and Saban was pulling his hair out over the number of penalties and mistakes that occurred on the field.

This year, while the quarterback position might be a question mark, the Tide do have a far more experienced team and have added valuable transfers to bolster their secondary.

LSU, meanwhile, will again go with quarterback Jayden Daniels whose strong showing last season made the coaching staff confident that he could lead the team. The Tigers picked up steam late in the year and beat Alabama before heading to the SEC championship game, where they managed to score 30 points against Georgia in defeat. If LSU continues to trend in the right direction, the fight for the SEC West title could be a close one.

Both Alabama and LSU have reasonable odds to make the college football playoffs, and fans expect to see Nick Saban force his way back into that postseason conversation.

2023 College Football SEC West Winner Predictions and Best Bets

The NCAA’s Southeastern Conference football picture will be a three-horse race this year. Georgia will win the SEC East and face the winner of a battle between ‘Bama and LSU for first place in the West.

I would be stunned if the outcome is anything different, and while Texas A&M’s odds to win the SEC West are reasonable at +550, the Aggies just don’t feel close enough to compete with those top two programs.

I’ll go with Alabama here with the second of my SEC football predictions. The Crimson Tide have one of the nation’s top four rosters, and they have great CFB playoff odds this year, too.

The Pick: Alabama Crimson Tide to win the SEC West (+100)

Odds to win SEC Championship 2023

Georgia -110
Alabama +275
LSU +450
Texas A&M +1400
Tennessee +1500
Mississippi +5000
Auburn +8000
Florida +8000
Favorites to win 2023 SEC ChampionshipHere we would like to see a matchup between Alabama and Georgia. These two teams haven’t faced each other since the 2021 championship game, and I have no doubt that Saban is itching for another crack at Kirby Smart’s team.

While Georgia won that all-important 2021 National Championship Game, don’t forget that Alabama had beaten the Bulldogs by 17 points barely a month earlier in the season.

Georgia has the strongest SEC championship odds for 2023, and Alabama is expected to meet the Bulldogs in the title game.

2023 College Football SEC Championship Winner Predictions and Best Bets

If Alabama is going to beat Georgia for the 2023 SEC championship, it will have to come down to either better coaching or Tide QB Jalen Milroe having a Heisman-level season and performing near miracles with the title on the line. Alabama has the best SEC West odds, but the Bulldogs present the toughest challenge for just about anybody this season.

Georgia’s roster is more experienced on defense, more unified, and outright stronger. While Alabama has a great top-four roster this season, the projected QB Milroe has yet to prove himself as a full-season starter.

I like Alabama to give the Bulldogs a run for their money here, but I have to go with the favorite to claim the SEC championship.
