Favorites to win 2023 Big 12 ChampionshipAll right, let’s now move on to look at the Big 12 football odds before the season gets under way this weekend.

The Texas Longhorns are the frontrunning favorites to win college football’s Big 12 Conference this season with Quinn Ewers poised to be one of the nation’s best quarterbacks in 2023.

Texas has made sure to give Ewers as much talent as possible to work with, and former Georgia Bulldog transfer Adonai Mitchell is an under-the-radar great addition to the Longhorns’ offense.

Mitchell is a 6-foot-4, 195-pound wide receiver who picked up a five-star grade in the transfer portal. The Longhorns swept in and made sure the native of Antioch, Texas, could be added to their rotation.  

Oklahoma will benefit from what appears to be an easier schedule this season. The Sooners find themselves ranked among college football’s Top 25 despite a 6-7 record last season under Brent Venables.

The Sooners’ first real test will come against Texas, which should give us a true read on just how competitive they are this season.

West Virginia could end up with a better 2023 record than many expect. Its odds at +10000 appear a little high, and while the Mountaineers might not win the title, they could surprise a lot of fans.

West Virginia is at No. 25 in the preseason rankings and could work its way into the conversation for this season’s Big 12 championship game.

Neal Brown, head coach of WVU, needs to have a very strong year if he wants to keep his job. The Mountaineers have added a couple of transfers to their offense, although they are unproven, and starter Garrett Greene is an athletic, dual-threat quarterback who might shake things up for West Virginia in the best way this season.

2023 College Football Big 12 Championship Winner Predictions and Best Bets

I’m finding it a little tough to look past Texas here. Sure, the Longhorns have the best Big 12 championship odds going into the 2023 season, but with uncertainty surrounding Oklahoma and Kansas State looking like the only other team that could truly threaten them, I can’t see how the Longhorns don’t take the conference this year.

This is the last season for college football’s Big 12 Conference as we know it, since the SEC is poaching some of its best programs, and I’m backing Texas to go out with a bang.

The Longhorns are one of my favorite college football futures this season, and their NCAAF odds make them the favorite for a reason. Oklahoma is a risk, and the others just aren’t ready.
