The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs begin the three-race Round of 12 at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday with the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400. NASCAR returns to the speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, for the first time since 2022. Now that the Round of 16 is behind us, the Cup Series championship contenders have been narrowed down to 12 drivers. Since playoff points won’t reset until the Round of 8 begins in mid-October, some top drivers from the regular season, including William Byron, Martin Truex Jr., and Denny Hamlin, all hold huge advantages going into each of these next three races.

2023 Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 Betting Preview and Predictions
This will be only the second time NASCAR Cup Series drivers compete at Texas Motor Speedway in the next-gen cars. They will be doing it in a rather unique situation since this race opens the playoffs’ Round of 12. Several drivers were unable to finish the 2022 Texas Motor Speedway race due to crashes, so we don’t have much to go by heading into this one. Nevertheless, what happened last year gives us some idea of what to expect. With these playoffs now in full swing, let's take a closer look at the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 odds to determine our NASCAR best bets for Sunday's race.
2023 Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 Best Bets: Top picks
Christopher Bell has enjoyed much of his success racing on road courses and dirt tracks throughout his NASCAR Cup Series career and is likely the NASCAR circuit’s best driver when it comes to such courses. Of course, he recognizes that becoming a NASCAR Cup Series champion will require him to also have success and victories at motor speedways. Bell had a top 10 qualifying time on Saturday and claimed starting grid spot No. 9 for this race. Should he win this first leg of the Round of 12, Bell would automatically advance to the Round of 8. In the 2022 race at Texas Motor Speedway, an accident ended Bell’s day. On Sunday, look for him to have a great race, because he has had back-to-back top-10 finishes over his last two races and is inching closer to a victory.
The Pick: Christopher Bell to win (+1000)
Martin Truex Jr. was one of the top drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series’ regular season. At times he looked like he had nitrous oxide in his car based on how much faster he was than the other drivers. However, this postseason got off to a rough start for Truex Jr., who finished 18th, 36th, and 19th in the three-race Round of 16. Points earned from his great regular-season performance are what advanced him to this Round of 12 and will likely also get him into the Round of 8. However, if Truex Jr. wants to win another Cup Series championship, he’ll have to return to that regular-season form. A crash cut his day short in last year’s race at Texas Motor Speedway, but as NASCAR fans know, whenever these drivers race on a track like this one, Truex Jr. has a great chance to come out on top.
The Pick: Martin Truex Jr. to win (+1400)
Tyler Reddick did not have a great qualifying race on Saturday, so he will start in the middle of the pack on Sunday at 15th. Despite that, he’s very well-versed in this style of track and he often wins races on motor speedways because of the risks he is willing to take there. In his only race at Texas Motor Speedway in the next-gen cars last year, Reddick finished first with 70 laps led. It should therefore come as no surprise that I like Reddick to win on Sunday. He currently ranks eighth in the playoff standings, and a win would automatically advance him into the Round of 8. Keep an eye out for the number 45 car on Sunday, because Reddick will be among the leaders toward the end of this race.
The Pick: Tyler Reddick to win (+1200)
NASCAR Sleeper Picks for Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400
Chase Briscoe hasn’t had a top 10 finish since August, when the NASCAR Cup Series ran the Verizon 200 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s Brickyard Road Course. Briscoe placed sixth in that race. This Texas Motor Speedway course is a completely different style of track, and racing on a speedway presents its own set of obstacles for all drivers involved, particularly since starting track position is key. Briscoe will start 31st on Sunday, but he finished fifth in the only previous race at Texas Motor Speedway in next-gen cars. He is not one of the Round of 12 playoff drivers, but he’s still pushing hard to get some momentum for next season. Briscoe is certainly a long shot here, but he’s a sleeper who could certainly steal the show on Sunday if some caution flags fall his way.
