UFC Nashville Sandhagen vs Font Fight Card: Predictions, Odds & Best Bets

Fight Night returns on Saturday after a great showing at UFC 291 and a memorable knockout from Justin Gaethje.

This weekend, the UFC heads to Nashville, Tenn., for a night headlined by a catchweight bout between No. 4-ranked Cory Sandhagen and No. 7 Rob Font. Sandhagen goes into this fight as the favorite, while Font looks to build momentum after a surprising victory over the up-and-coming Adrian Yanez.

Also on Saturday, Jessica Andrade returns to take on Tatiana Suarez in a women’s strawweight fight, and there will be an enticing light heavyweight bout between two powerful men in Dustin Jacoby and Kennedy Nzechukwu.

Let’s take a look at fights scheduled for Saturday as we make our UFC predictions for this weekend's action in Nashville.

Cory Sandhagen vs Rob Font Prediction & Picks

Cory Sandhagen has won his last two fights and has rebounded from back-to-back losses to T.J. Dillashaw and Petr Yan. Many UFC fans believed Sandhagen was robbed on the Dillashaw decision after what was a sensational fight, and his fight with Yan was even better.

While Sandhagen lost both matchups, there’s no doubt he’s a warrior. He can take a significant amount of damage and will happily stand in the octagon to go to war. He outstruck both Yan and Dillashaw in those two fights, and he’s never been knocked out in the UFC.

Similarly, neither has 35-year-old veteran Rob Font, who gave a phenomenal display of boxing ability in his last fight against surging 29-year-old Adrian Yanez.

Both men were dealing significant strikes, but it was Font who knocked the younger favorite off his feet and closed out the fight early in the second round.

If this one develops the way it's expected to, we could see a full-on brawl between two men who can inflict a lot of damage while standing in there and taking it at the same time.

Based on their fighting history and the sheer toughness of both men, this one should go the distance, and I’m pulling for Sandhagen, who squeaks out a victory in my book.

The Pick: Cory Sandhagen by decision (+165)

Jessica Andrade vs Tatiana Suarez Prediction & Picks

This could be a pivotal fight in Jessica Andrade’s career. She is now 24-11 after losing her last two fights -- the most recent a first-round knockout loss to Yan Xiaonan. As part of this weekend's UFC card, Andrade will now take on talented Tatiana Suarez with a big opportunity to showcase her experience.

Suarez is 10-0 in an injury-plagued career that has cost her some prime years. She returned to the UFC earlier this year and choked out Montana De La Rosa via guillotine to announce her comeback tour.

As an undefeated fighter, Suarez is looking to go on a run that would take her to a women’s strawweight title shot, and her dominant ability could play a large part in adding to that run on Saturday night.

Suarez’s wrestling skill is phenomenal. In women's MMA, she stands out as one of the best grapplers I have ever seen, and I have reservations about how Jessica Andrade will fare against her.

The undefeated fighter has won three of her six UFC fights via submission, and I’m backing a similar outcome this weekend. I’m taking her UFC card odds to stop the fight via submission, which is something Andrade is going to need to be very cautious of throughout the fight.

The Pick: Tatiana Suarez to win by submission (+120)

Jacoby vs. Nzechukwu – Men's Light Heavyweight Bout Event Fight Info:

UFC Fight Schedule 2023
Dustin Jacoby (18-7-1) vs Kennedy Nzechukwu (12-3-0)
Date: Saturday, August. 5, 2023

Dustin Jacoby vs Kennedy Nzechukwu Odds, Moneyline, Over/Under – UFC Fight Odds 8/5

Moneyline: Jacoby +130, Nzechukwu -155

Total Rounds:
-2.5 (2.5): Over 2.5 -135, Under 2.5 +105

Method of Victory:
Jacoby KO, TKO or Disqualification +400
Jacoby Decision or Technical Decision +275
Jacoby By Submission +2000
Nzechukwu KO, TKO or Disqualification +215
Nzechukwu Decision or Technical Decision +240
Nzechukwu By Submission +900
Draw or Technical Draw +5000

Dustin Jacoby vs Kennedy Nzechukwu Prediction & Picks

If you’re a fan of UFC heavyweight or light heavyweight fighters and enjoy seeing big displays of power, then this might be your favorite fight on Saturday night.

Dustin Jacoby has lost his last couple of fights, but one of those included landing 120 strikes against Khalil Rountree Jr. in October 2022 -- a fight that ended in a loss by split decision.

At 18-7-1 Jacoby has plenty of experience, and he often runs deep into fights. A third of his wins have come via decision, while 61 percent have come via knockout or TKO.

Kennedy Nzechukwu’s KO percentage is even stronger than that. He boasts a 73 percent KO/TKO win percentage, and is able to deal significant damage both with his hands and a few very well-timed knees to the face.

Nzechukwu comes into this one with a 12-3 record and a three-fight winning streak that included stoppages against Karl Robertson, Devin Clark, and Ion Cutelaba. He’s fast for the light heavyweight division and can overwhelm opponents when he gets on the front foot and starts throwing hands.

The big man is capable of a takedown, but I can see him just overpowering Jacoby in the later minutes of this one and winning the fight. I’ll round out my UFC picks with a KO/TKO/DQ victory for Nzechukwu in what will be one of the most interesting of this weekend’s upcoming UFC fights.

The Pick: Kennedy Nzechukwu by KO/TKO/DQ (+400)
