Best NHL Player Prop Bets: 11/22
Connor Bedard Rookie sensation Connor Bedard has been amazing this season. As a result, it has been much easier to watch Chicago Blackhawks games in 2023-24 than it was a year ago. Chicago travels to Columbus on Wednesday night to face a Blue Jackets team that is just awful. With only one win in the month of November, Columbus has already entered full reset mode. Bedard, who has nine goals and 15 points in 16 games this season, has settled into the NHL game well. The Blue Jackets defense allows opponents 3.63 goals per game -- the fifth-highest total in the league. After scoring seven goals in a six-game stretch Bedard has gone scoreless over his last three games. That changes Wednesday.

The Pick: Connor Bedard anytime goalscorer (+140)
Cam Atkinson Philadelphia winger Cam Atkinson has been a key player for the Flyers this season. Entering Wednesday night’s matchup against the New York Islanders, he ranks third on the team in shots on goal, second in goals scored, and fourth in points. The Flyers will be facing an Islanders team that allows the NHL’s second-most shots on goal (35.1 per game). In his past 10 games, Atkinson has exceeded his current shots prop total seven times. Goaltender Ilya Sorokin is expected to be in net for the Islanders on Wednesday. While Sorokin has had a rocky start to this season, I think he will be effective in this game. That means it’ll take more shots on goal to beat him, which should force Atkinson to be even more aggressive in the offensive zone.

The Pick: Cam Atkinson over 2.5 shots on goal (-134)
William Karlsson Second-line center William Karlsson has been on fire for the Vegas Golden Knights -- leading the team in both goals (nine) and points (20). While November has been a month to forget in Las Vegas, the Knights will need to make things right with a win on Wednesday night. This won’t be an easy task against the Dallas Stars team that dealt them an overtime shootout defeat earlier in the year. With another close matchup on hand, Vegas will need all its skaters on their “A” games Wednesday night. In his last five games, Karlsson has exceeded his current shots-on-goal prop total four times.

The Pick: William Karlsson over 2.5 shots on goal (+105)
Nathan MacKinnon Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon has had a slow start to 2023-24. Normally, we would expect to see MacKinnon leading his team in every offensive category by now, but he ranks only third on the Avs for both goals and points. However, opponents can’t keep a player like MacKinnon quiet for an entire season, and a breakout game is certainly on the horizon for him. Although he has remained aggressive with his shooting, goals haven’t followed. The Avalanche host the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night, which should change MacKinnon’s luck. Vancouver allows the league’s 14th-most shots on goal at 30.8 per game. That should give MacKinnon tons of opportunities to put one in the back of the net. We’re going to play it safe, however, and take his shots on goal in this one.

The Pick: Nathan MacKinnon over 4.5 shots on goal (-138)
