Best NHL Player-Prop Bets on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024  Adrian Kempe Los Angeles winger Adrian Kempe has been one of the most important players on the Kings this season –- leading the team with 36 points and ranking second with 15 goals. Kempe is off to a fast start in the new year with three goals over his team’s first three games of 2024. Kempe and his L.A. teammates have a favorable matchup on Tuesday night at Tampa, because the Lightning allow the NHL’s sixth-most goals per game and 16th-most shots per game. Kempe has scored his last three goals on a total of nine shots and has gone over his current prop total for shots on goal in two of his last three games. Look for Kempe to feast against this Lightning defense on Tuesday night.

The Pick: Adrian Kempe over 3.5 shots on goal (+120)
Auston Matthews Center Auston Matthews is second on the Maple Leafs in points this season and leads the entire NHL with 30 goals in 2023-24. One of the best players in today’s game, Matthews will be licking his chops on Tuesday night when he gets to face a San Jose Sharks team that gives up the NHL’s most goals per game (4.03). While this game could -- and likely will -- get out of hand early, there’s little doubt that Matthews will play a role in that if it does. He has two goals in his last five games and could have a field day against an inferior Sharks defense.

The Pick: Auston Matthews anytime goalscorer (-125)
Josh Morrissey Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey is one of the best blueliners on his surging team. While he has had an impact defensively, he has also been aggressive in the offensive zone. His 103 shots rank second on the team in that category, but he hasn’t converted a lot of those shots into goals. Nevertheless, he keeps on firing the puck. On Tuesday night, Morrissey face a Columbus Blue Jackets team that allows both the NHL’s third-most goals and shots per game. Morrissey might well find the net for his seventh goal of the season in this game, but I am targeting his shots-on-goal number here. He has exceeded his current prop total in three of his last five games.

The Pick: Josh Morrissey over 2.5 shots on goal (-138)
Blake Coleman Center Blake Coleman has been one of Calgary’s best players this season. He leads the Flames with 15 goals and is currently tied for the team lead with 30 points. Calgary hosts the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night, and the Flames will have an opportunity to take advantage of an inferior Senators defense that allows the NHL’s fourth-most goals per game. Coleman has scored in three of his last five games, so this has to be an appetizing matchup for him. Let’s jump on some plus money here because I like Coleman to find the back of the net at home on Tuesday night.

The Pick: Blake Coleman anytime goalscorer (+175)
