The Florida Panthers’ Cinderella story is starting to outgrow itself, because everyone is now talking about this team. Since sneaking into the postseason, the Panthers have done a complete 180-degree turn, because they’re not the same team they were during the regular season. Improving in each round of this postseason, the Panthers are one game away from sweeping the Carolina Hurricanes and heading to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 1996. Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has been a brick wall in this series and has yet to allow the Hurricanes more than two goals in any game, The last time he allowed more than two goals in a game was back in Round 1 vs. the Boston Bruins. Frustration is starting to settle in for the Hurricanes, who are on the verge of elimination with their Stanley Cup hopes now a distant wish.

Best NHL Same Game Parlay Picks Friday for Hurricanes vs Panthers: 3-Leg Parlay Picks (+700)

Total Goals

Defense has been the story of this series, and not one of the first three games has come close to reaching the over. Monday’s game, which ended in a 1-0 Panthers victory, reminded us of how much defense has come to dominate these Eastern Conference Finals. Goaltenders Frederik Andersen and Sergei Bobrovksy have been phenomenal in this series. Now, I realize I might be the only one who thinks this, but I expect that stout defensive play to fall apart in Game 4 on Wednesday night. There were 125 total shots on goal in Game 1 (which went through four overtimes), 64 shots on goal in Game 2, and 49 shots on goal in Game 3. Yes, as I said, Anderson and Bobrovsky have been phenomenal, but the shots on goal have been there throughout this series. Both offenses are too talented to continue to get blanketed by great goaltending. I tip my hat to the play of both goalies so far, but the clock has struck midnight on them, and I expect a high-scoring affair in this potential closeout game for the Panthers.

Leg-1 SGP Pick: Over 5.5 goals (+100)
Sebastian Aho

Winger Sebastian Aho has yet to score in this series and hasn’t scored since Game 3 of Carolina’s second-round series against the New Jersey Devils. While Aho has remained aggressive with 13 total shots on goal and two assists over these first three games, he has yet to put one in the back of the net. The Hurricanes’ backs are now against the wall, and Aho knows how important this game is for his team. He also knows that he has to lead the charge if he wants to keep Carolina’s season alive. Expect an extra aggressive Aho to really test Bobrovsky on Wednesday in what the Panthers would love to be a closeout game.

Leg-2 SGP Pick: Sebastian Aho anytime goal scorer (+140)

Hurricanes - Goals

Panthers center Aleksander Barkov scored the most remarkable goal of this postseason against Andersen in Game 2. It was so remarkable that only video can do it justice. However, after scoring once in each of the first two games against Carolina, Barkov had no shots on goal in Game 3. He knows he’ll have to be on his “A game” if Florida plans to close out this series on Wednesday night. Barkov had the Hurricanes’ number during the regular season -- scoring in two of three games against Carolina. He has also had the Hurricanes’ number during this Eastern Conference Finals series. With all the marbles on the line for the Panthers, expect Barkov to continue his dominance and get one in the back of the net on Wednesday night.

Leg-3 SGP Pick: Aleksander Barkov anytime goal scorer (+170)
