Steelers vs Colts Preview

Both of these two teams have really gone below expectations for this season as we enter Week 12 with both teams well under .500.

While the Pittsburgh Steelers have had a lot of injuries and are still trying to find a starting quarterback, there’s just still no excuse as this Steelers defense is absolutely awful, allowing 375.5 total yards and 24.4 points per game.

As for the Indianapolis Colts, they’re looking for a starting quarterback too, as Matt Ryan has been dreadful to watch. Their offensive line, which is the highest-paid in the NFL, has been as easy to get through as a revolving door. Interim head coach Jeff Saturday, a former All-Pro offensive lineman who played for the Colts, was brought in to not only lead but bolster and boost their offensive line back to their expectations.

They did so in his first game as interim head coach as Ryan was sacked just once by the Raiders as the Colts would win 25-20. But they were right back to reality last week as Ryan was sacked four times, including a critical 14-yard sack on third and goal from the five-yard line. They had to settle for a field goal, and that would be the difference in them not winning the game as the Eagles escaped with a 17-16 win.

These two disappointing teams will now clash in a Monday Night Football showdown that will be a barn burner..

Steelers vs Colts Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - MNF Odds Week 12

Moneyline: Philadelphia Eagles -500, Washington Commanders +375
Spread: Philadelphia Eagles -10.5, Washington Commanders +10.5
Total: Over/Under 43.5

In his second game back, Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt and this Steelers defense got absolutely picked apart by the Cincinnati Bengals offense as they scored 37 points and Joe Burrow was only sacked twice. They did manage to shut down the Bengals run game, but the Bengals dominated through the air as Burrow finished with 355 passing yards and four touchdowns.

The Colts dumpster fire continued to burn as their offensive line allowed Ryan to get sacked four times and pressured numerous times against Philadelphia. Ryan, at 37 years old, has no answers at this point of his career when it comes to avoiding or having success against blitz packages. That is going to create a long night against a Steelers defense that will be looking to redeem themselves on Monday night.

Steelers vs Colts Predictions and MNF Picks Week 12

Both of these offenses are a complete and utter joke as they both rank within the bottom five in the NFL this year in points per game and just about every offensive category. Through 12 weeks, the Steelers average 17 points per game, while the Colts enter this matchup averaging 15.7 points per game.

The Colts have at least showed up on the defensive end as they’ve made opposing offenses really work to beat them, including an upset win over the Kansas City Chiefs earlier in the year. As for the Steelers, they couldn’t stop a peewee team at this point as their 375.5 total yards per game ranks 28th in the NFL.

This game will be a combination of good defense and bad offense. While I love to bet overs or lay off, I love the under in this one.

The Pick: Under 39 (-110)

While the Colts do have the better defense in this matchup, and I don’t think that quarterback Kenny Pickett is the Steelers quarterback of the future, I do lean the Steelers in this one. The Colts defense will definitely make it challenging for the Steelers to move the ball, but Pickett will do enough to keep the chains moving. He will be helped by running back Najee Harris, who came alive last week, rushing for 90 yards and two touchdowns.

Expect the Steelers to lean on the run in this game and expect their defense to show up Steel Curtain-style and escape Indianapolis with a win. Matt Ryan likely throws two interceptions in this game while getting sacked four or five times - maybe even more than that.

The Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers ML (+120)

Best MNF Prop Bets

Najee Harris

Najee Harris has barely found the endzone this year as outside of his one rushing touchdown in week 3 against the Cleveland Browns, Harris was scoreless until last week against the Cincinnati Bengals where he found the endzone twice. And yes that momentum will carry over into Monday night football where Harris will find the endzone for the fourth time this season. Harris leads all Steelers players with 25 redzone opportunities this season and will take advantage of his opportunities on Monday night.

The Pick: Najee Harris anytime touchdown scorer (+135)
