The Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys will take the field in the postseason yet again as they’ll meet in Arlington, Texas on Sunday afternoon. The two teams will meet for the third time in the postseason within that last 10 years. The Packers own the current series 2-0 but things look much different this time around. The Packers are no longer led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers and their defense is less terrifying. As for the Cowboys they come into this matchup undefeated at home this season and are looking like a legit contender as they’ve been able to put it together on both sides of the football. Packers, Cowboys postseason showdown, does it get any better than this?

Packers vs Cowboys Predictions and Picks

The Green Bay Packers snuck their way into the playoffs this season and I’m not sure if it was a good thing. Yes, it’ll give Jordan Love his first bit of playoff experience but this Packers team is just missing too many pieces to even compete in the postseason. So, is it even worth it? The only thing that’s making this matchup intriguing is these two teams have rich playoff history, but that was when Rodgers was in town. The Packers now have an inexperienced offense and a defense that has shown up periodically throughout the 2023-24 NFL season. This Packers defense is very similar to last seasonsdefense that Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had 11 catches, 150 yards and two touchdowns against. This is the same Packers defense that allowed the Carolina Panthers, an all-time bad NFL team, to score 30 points on them three weeks ago. This Cowboys team plays its best football at home and they average the most points per game in the NFL this season. This game is going to get ugly and it’s going to get ugly fast. Give me the Cowboys on the alternate spread.

The Pick: Dallas Cowboys -13 (+175)

This game total comes in a bit high for my liking based on me not trusting Jordan Love and this Packers team to be able to move the ball on offense against the Dan Quinn led Cowboys defense. Dallas’ defense allows the fifth fewest points to opposing offenses this season and I don’t see Love and the Packers changing that on Sunday. The Cowboys offense will be clicking on all cylinders as Lamb will be a matchup nightmare for the Packers. The Cowboys are going to score points while the Packers will not, give me the under in this one and yes, the Cowboys offense might make us sweat this one out but they won’t put up 50 points.

The Cowboys run game has been wildly inconsistent this season as the offense has relied heavily on Prescott and the passing game. I expect a similar game plan on Sunday as the Cowboys will look to take care of the Packers quickly. Prescott has exceeded his current prop total in two of his last five outings but has exceeded this number in seven games this season. The Packers defense stinks and so does their secondary. Look for Prescott to have a field day on Sunday against Green Bay.

CeeDee Lamb CeeDee Lamb is having a record setting season  as he’s one of the most unguardable players in the NFL. Only wide receiver Tyreek Hill had more receiving yards than Lamb this year. The last time Lamb faced this Packers secondary he torched them for 11 catches, 150 yards and two touchdowns. Expect a similar outcome as Lamb is only getting better and the chemistry between him and Prescott is only getting better as well.

Leg-2 SGP Pick: CeeDee Lamb over 124.5 receiving yards (+195)

First Half I’m really expecting the Cowboys to come out fast and ready against this Packers team on Sunday and I’m expecting them to do so by scoring a lot of points. The Cowboys average the most first half points of any NFL team this year with 17.4 first half points. With the way they’ve looked at home, and the way this passing attack looks, I see Dallas getting the ball at least four times in the first half and scoring on all four of those possessions.
