The complaints are out about the past handful of primetime games as some have been blowouts and some have been barn burners. But in the words of the great Terrell Owens, get your popcorn ready for this matchup as it’s going to be a show. The Miami Dolphins come into this matchup at 3-0 and are looking like a true contender out of the AFC this season. As for the Cincinnati Bengals, they come into this matchup at 1-2 with a slew of problems.

Dolphins vs Bengals Predictions – Thursday Night Football Picks

With both teams being on a short week, they will both be presented with some challenges. For the Dolphins, outside of Tua Tagovailoa’s health, their defense’s stamina is going to get tested. The Dolphins defense was on the field for almost 75 per cent of the game on Sunday against Buffalo. Expect head coach Zac Taylor and Joe Burrow to come out early, run up-tempo and likely go no-huddle to really test this Dolphins defense which played 92 snaps on Sunday.

For the Bengals, their defense had a relaxing Sunday as they faced an offensive line that’s actually worse than theirs. That doesn’t mean the Bengals defense is off the hook, though, as this will be their hardest task of the year in defending this high-powered Dolphins offense. That's why I love the over here. With Tagovailoa expected to play, you can expect this game to go well over its number as the Bengals will build off of a subpar offensive performance at home and the Dolphins will take full advantage of a Bengals defense that might look as if they’re a playing a different sport out there.

The Pick: Over 48 points (-110)

I get that Tagovailoa is dealing with multiple injuries to his ankle and get, and I get that the Dolphins played 92 defensive snaps last week and likely shouldn’t have defeated Buffalo after a rare misfire from the goalline from Josh Allen. Either way, the Dolphins are 3-0 and they go to 4-0 after Thursday night.

Despite all those factors above, the Bengals defense is just that bad and they’ve yet to face an offense like this. In their defence, not many defenses will face an offense like this. With two of the fastest wide receivers in the NFL in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle lined up on the outside, and pass catchers Cedrick Wilson and Mike Gesicki controlling the middle, this offense is a one-of-a-kind task and the Bengals won’t be able to handle it. On the offensive side, the Bengals will be able to compete, but their offensive line still worries me as they can’t protect Burrow.

The Pick: Miami Dolphins +4 (-110)

Best NFL Player Prop Bets: Thursday Night Football Week 4

Mike Gesicki:

I really don’t want to make this entire article about the Bengals defense, but they’ve left me no choice. With that being said, they can’t cover tight ends either. Though it’s just three games, Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth had his best performance of the season against the Bengals in Week 1 and Jets tight end Tyler Conklin had his season-best against the Bengals this past Sunday. Add that to the factors I mentioned above, with Hill and Waddle on the outsides, and Gesicki will have a season-high night.

The Pick: Mike Gesicki over (20.5) receiving yards (-115)

Joe Burrow:

This Bengals offensive line is a problem. Burrow was sacked seven times in Week 1, six times in Week 2, and twice on Sunday against the Jets. With that being said, the amount of pressure that Burrow faces and continues to face will drive him out of the pocket to either throw or run for his life. With the over/under coming in at 11.5 rushing yards, a number that Burrow has exceeded twice this season already, I expect him to do it again.

The Pick:
Joe Burrow over 11.5 rushing yards (-110)
