Well, we now have the comeback of the year to consider when making our NBA gambling picks on a night-to-night basis. If we learned one thing last night in the Association, it was that in-game betting can be quite lucrative.

The Celtics were ahead of the Cavaliers by 22 points in the fourth quarter but blew the lead and had their 11-game winning streak snapped by a Cleveland Cavaliers team playing without Donovan Mitchell.

Also, the Pelicans handed the Raptors their worst home loss in their history, Luka Doncic had his fourth straight triple-double with at least 30 points, and the Brooklyn Nets unexpectedly came back to life by defeating the injury-ravaged Philadelphia 76ers.

Unpredictability comes with the territory in March, and we really learned that in Cleveland. In franchise history, Boston had been 364-0 when leading by at least 20 in the fourth quarter. Now, that record is 364-1.

What is in store tonight, and how can we possibly predict it given what happened Tuesday night? Well, that is the daily challenge in the sports gambling world. Congratulations to anyone using Betway Ohio who took the Cavs on the money line when the home team was down 22 in the fourth quarter with the Kelce brothers in the house and then pulled off the biggest fourth-quarter comeback in franchise history.

There are eight NBA games on the schedule Wednesday night, and we are looking into the crystal ball to find four that we think make sense. So, let’s have at it.

NBA Player Props Today for Wednesday, March 6, 2024

Sengun or George 35+ points

This is the first game of the ESPN doubleheader. Sengun, the second year player from Turkey, went 19-for-32 against Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs last night while also grabbing 16 rebounds. Earlier this season he went for 37 against both Utah and New Orleans, and he is going to be a dominant NBA center within the next two years. Can he get 35 against Ivica Zubac and Daniel House? Or can Paul George go for 35 or more points for what would be the sixth time this season? The nice thing about this wager is that only one of those two players needs to reach 35, or both. The “or” option is a new wagering option from our traders at Betway, and we love it.

The Pick: Alperen Sengun OR Paul George to score at least 35 points (+1100).

Damian Lillard 35+ points

An Achilles injury is more serious than a knee injury, and we have to assume that the Bucks are going to be super cautious with the Greek Freak because they need him in April, May and June more than they do in March. Lillard and Bobby Portis stepped up last game, and Malik Beasley is capable of knocking down six or seven 3-pointers on any given night. Golden State is coming off an embarrassing loss but has been back home regrouping for three days and should be fresh. Steph Curry played only 17 minutes and scored 4 points at Boston. Since Lillard and Curry are two of the most prolific 3-point shooters in NBA history, we expect both to light it up on national TV. Since there is no “OR” option in this game, we are taking the guy with the longer 35 or more points odds.

The Pick: Damian Lillard to score at least 35 points (+450).

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 35+ points

Because of all of Portland’s injuries, Simons is the only accomplished NBA player who will be representing the great state of Oregon in this game, and Oklahoma City is favored by 13.5. Unfortunately, the Portland injury situation is keeping Blazers player props off the board, so our choices are limited to Thunder players. But fear not, we have found one. Gilgeous-Alexander has scored 33, 31 and 28 in OKC’s three previous games against Portland, and he had scored in the 30s in nine straight games before being held to 20 in a loss to the Lakers. He is a bounce-back guy, and Brogdon will not be defending him.

The Pick: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to score at least 40 points (+375).

LeBron James triple-double

Sabonis has gone three straight games without a triple-double, something that hasn’t happened since mid-December. His triple-double line is +225, but he has not recorded one in two matchups against the Lakers this season, so we are staying away. James, meanwhile, finished two assists shy of a triple-double two nights ago against Oklahoma City, and he is overdue for his fifth of the season (and Mr. 40,000 points also has a much more enticing line).

The Pick: LeBron James to record a triple-double (+650)
