Back-to-backs are the scourge of the NBA, if you ask any current player.

But if you ask any retired player who made a living in the NBA in the 1950s or 1960s, you will hear about back-to-back-to-backs played in out-of-the-way places that were reached on commercial flights and buses.

There were no team charters back then, no catered meals, no five-star hotels.

So, do not fall into the trap of thinking that playing professional basketball on consecutive nights is an arduous task. The NBA and the Players Association has reduced the number of back-to-backs to a historical low, but teams still have them from time to time. Tonight, two teams from the Midwest are on the second night of back-to-backs coming off extremely impressive victories.

The Milwaukee Bucks took out the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets by 17 points last night, and the Minnesota Timberwolves knocked off the Clippers in Los Angeles by 21.

The Wolves are in first place in the West and the Bucks are third in the East, and both are playing tonight against vulnerable opponents. Milwaukee is at home playing Miami, which will be without Jimmy Butler, and Minnesota is at Portland, which is listing its best offensive player, Anfernee Simons, as probable with an ankle sprain.

Every team wants to go into the All-Star break with a head of steam, and the opportunity to do so is there for the taking for Milwaukee and Minnesota.

Who else is wager-worthy on a Tuesday night featuring a TNT doubleheader of Oklahoma City-Orlando and Sacramento-Phoenix?

Best NBA Parlay Picks Today – Tuesday, February 13, 2024: 4-Leg Parlay Picks (+3141)

Heat vs Bucks Prediction and Pick

Butler is missing the game for personal reasons, and Milwaukee has been playing better-than-decent defense recently, holding its last two opponents below 100 points. The knock on the Bucks is that they aren’t all that great defensively, but new coach Doc Rivers has been emphasizing the adage that defense wins championships, and he is starting to see results. Not having to deal with Butler should make this a cakewalk.

Leg-1 Parlay Pick: Bucks – 8.5 vs Heat (-105)

Celtics vs Nets Prediction and Pick

What we have here is a mismatch, and this one could be played in front of a very sparse crowd as New York was hit with a snowstorm Tuesday, and the definition of impossible is also known as trying to navigate the streets of Brooklyn the day of a snowstorm. This is the first end of a back-to-back between these teams, who will meet again on Wednesday night in Boston. The Nets lost to the Celtics by 10 and 14 in their first two meetings this season, and Brooklyn took a turn for the worse when December turned into January and has never recovered.

Leg-2 Parlay Pick: Celtics – 8.5 vs Nets (-115)

Timberwolves vs Trail Blazers Prediction and Pick

After seeing the T-Wolves take apart the Clippers last night in the late game, consider us convinced that this will be one of the last two teams standing when the Western Conference playoffs are contested. This is a complete team with an underappreciated All-Star in Anthony Edwards and two All-Good Guy candidates in Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert. If they had more exposure, people would embrace them, but they are not a flashy or sexy team, so they get ignored by the mainstream media. This line would be higher if the Wolves had not had to travel from Los Angeles to Portland after the game last night.

Leg-3 Parlay Pick: Timberwolves -8.5 vs. Trail Blazers.

Pistons vs Lakers Prediction and Pick

The Lakers are listing LeBron James and Anthony Davis as questionable, which is standard procedure. But you know what? The entire fortunes of that franchise are questionable after they did not make any moves at the trade deadline, and the Pistons have strung together a couple of decent victories on their current five-game Western road trip, including a victory at Sacramento as 13.5-point underdogs. They played the Clippers tight last time out and lost by just six points, and the young backcourt of Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey has looked comfortable lately. With Jalen Duren putting up monster scoring and rebounding numbers night after night, the stars seem aligned for this team to have Angelinos grumbling on Wednesday morning.

Leg-4 Parlay Pick: Pistons Moneyline vs. Lakers (+375)

Put those four picks together, and the odds come out to +3141, meaning a $10 wager would return $324.14. Good luck!
