Anyone who remembers the Premier League match between Arsenal and Newcastle in early November will be eagerly anticipating the upcoming rematch. That Nov. 4 game stands out as one of the most memorable of the season for both teams, and not because of its 1-0 final score. It was a tremendously chippy affair, and one that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will remind his players of before the teams meet again at London’s Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.

Recent Arsenal vs. Newcastle history has seen the Gunners win seven of the last 10 meetings. That said, Newcastle has won two of the last four, with one draw in the mix.

Let’s take a look at some free soccer betting picks and a Premier League same-game parlay for this Saturday matchup in London.

Arsenal vs. Newcastle Preview

When Arsenal headed north to face Newcastle earlier this season, it came away empty-handed. Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of that match -- a tap into an empty net. However, all the surrounding activity in the game was what made discussion of it such a hot topic afterward.

Tensions were already running high when Arsenal’s Kai Havertz made a reckless lunge with his cleats in the air long after the ball had been played. The late challenge sparked a scuffle between the two teams, and things only escalated from there.

Heavy challenges continued to occur throughout the match, and Arsenal fans were left bewildered when well-known Newcastle provocateur Bruno Guimaraes managed to avoid a red card for a dangerous elbow to the back of his opponent’s head in a play that took place completely away from the ball.

It’s fair to say that we should expect fireworks in the teams’ second match of the season when Newcastle visits London on Saturday. Newcastle was the team that handed Arsenal its first loss of the 2023-24 season, but the home team comes into this one as a strong favorite playing at the top of its game.

The Gunners have won their last five matches, three of which came in emphatic fashion. They’re playing some of the best soccer they have played all season, led by a dynamic front three that includes Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard, whose addition to the starting 11 in place of the injured Gabriel Jesus has worked tremendously well.

Arsenal's recent winning streak features impressive victories, including 5-0 triumphs over both Crystal Palace and Burnley, as well as a resounding 6-0 win over London rival West Ham. The Gunners have scored 21 goals in those five games, while only giving up two, so a lot of Premier League betting tips are going to lean toward several goals being scored in this match as well.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United has been dealing with a rash of injuries that has disrupted what it had hoped would be genuine top-four contention this season. Instead, the team is clambering to hold on in European soccer. Newcastle is currently eighth in the standings -- one point behind Brighton but a full seven points behind sixth-place Manchester United.

Manager Eddie Howe’s team hopes to have a couple of players back this weekend, with Joseph Willock and Alexander Isak on the verge of returning, but the status of both players will be last-minute decisions before Saturday night's game.

Newcastle has struggled in recent weeks, managing to win only two of its last eight games. With injuries across the backline, they have allowed nine goals in their last four, including poor defensive performances that resulted in draws against lower-ranked teams in Luton and Bournemouth.

Given how well the Gunners are playing, containing Arsenal is going to be tough, but Newcastle can take positives from the Gunners’ midweek Champions League game against Porto, a 1-0 loss in Portugal. Perhaps Newcastle can take advantage of Arsenal’s hectic schedule and pull off a shocking road win.

Arsenal vs. Newcastle Lineups and Injuries

Arsenal is struggling with injuries at fullback right now, with both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu dealing with nagging injuries and no current return date.

Thomas Partey also remains out of the lineup and will be out for awhile, but there is a chance Arsenal gets Gabriel Jesus back at striker this weekend, even if that means he has to come in from the bench.

Newcastle’s list of injuries is much longer. Callum Wilson, Joelinton, and Matt Targett are all out, while center-back Fabian Schar, midfielder Joseph Willock, and striker Alexander Isak are trying to get healthy enough to return.

Arsenal vs. Newcastle Prediction, Picks, and Betting Tips

Total Goals

The first of my Premier League prop bets for this match focuses on the total-goals market. Arsenal has been in excellent goal-scoring form in recent weeks, which is why we have what feels like great value on the under at 3.5 goals. Newcastle is dealing with multiple injuries at the back and has certainly been leaking goals in recent weeks.

The question is whether Newcastle can threaten Arsenal’s back line, which has been one of the most intimidating in the league over the past few weeks. With Callum Wilson now out and Alexander Isak’s return still questionable, I’d hesitate to bet on Newcastle scoring on the road.

This is going to be scrappy affair, and Arsenal will be more than happy to settle for a 2-0 win at home. The Gunners were in Portugal earlier this week, and we might see some tired legs as a result, so I’ll take the under on the 3.5 goals in this one.

The Pick: Under 3.5 Goals

Bukayo Saka

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka had an off night this week during the Champions League game in Porto, but his Premier League performances have been out of this world. He has scored six goals in his last four EPL matches and has proven to be one of the key contributors to Arsenal’s current run of success.

Arsenal’s build-up play provides endless chances for Saka, who had a total of 21 shots in those last four games. He is playing with elite confidence and will certainly be able to find space and create goal-scoring opportunities against a leaky Newcastle defense.

Unfortunately for the Newcastle faithful, their team’s recent performances have set off alarm bells on the defensive end. They are now going into a road game against one of the league's title contenders, which happens to be the league’s hottest-scoring team right now, too.

The Pick: Bukayo Saka to score anytime (+100)

Moneyline

Based on its recent matches, Arsenal should win this one relatively comfortably. The Gunners have only lost once at home this season, and that feels like a long time ago now. It might not be a 5-0 final score, but Newcastle's depleted roster will certainly play a part in the outcome of this tough road game in London.

Arsenal has conceded only 11 goals at home this season, tying the club with Liverpool and Manchester City for the fewest allowed by any home team in the league. That fact already makes it seem difficult for Newcastle to score goals, and after factoring in the visiting team’s numerous injuries, I see a 2-0 or 3-0 win here for Arsenal to round out these Premier League predictions. You could take a -1 handicap on them here if you wanted to add a little extra spice to your parlay.

The Pick: Arsenal to win (-267)
