Best Devils vs Hurricanes Player Prop Bets Today for Game 2 on May 5th Jack Hughes The New Jersey Devils trail the Carolina Hurricanes 1-0 going into Game 2 of the series at PNC Arena, where it is very hard for visiting teams to win. The Hurricanes were 28-10-3 at home this season, rarely losing at PNC. If the Devils want to even this series at 1-1, they’ll need a big performance from Hughes on Friday night. Hughes hasn’t scored a goal since Game 4 of his team’s first-round series against the New York Rangers. The Hurricanes’ defense is stout, allowing only 27.43 shots on goal per game during the postseason to rank second overall in the league. Hughes had only two shots on goal in Game 1 as the Devils fell 5-1. Expect a more aggressive Hughes on Friday night, because it would be a tall order for the Devils to have to dig themselves out of a 2-0 hole in this series.

The Pick: Jack Hughes over 3.5 shots on goal (-134)
Erik Haula Winger Erik Haula leads all New Jersey Devils skaters with four goals in the postseason, but he was nearly nonexistent in Game 1 at Carolina on Wednesday. Haula had zero shots on goal and really let the Hurricanes defense get to him. Look for him to join Hughes with a much-needed strong effort on Friday night as the Devils look to even this series at one game apiece. Haula was scoreless in three regular-season appearances against the Hurricanes. He had two shots on goal in two of those games and also managed an assist. While his 2022-23 track record against the Hurricanes hasn’t been great, look for Haula to elevate his game in the postseason, beginning with Game 2 on Friday night.

The Pick: Erik Haula over 1.5 shots on goal (-182)
Sebastian Aho Carolina center Sebastian Aho has carried his dominance from the regular season into the Hurricanes’ postseason. After leading his team with 36 regular-season goals, he is also leading the way with four goals in the playoffs. Like the Hurricanes, the Devils are stout on defense -- allowing the NHL’s fewest shots on goal during these postseason at only 27.25 per game. While they exploited the Devils’ defense in their 5-1 victory in Game 1, the Hurricanes will find Game 2 to be much harder, since the Devils backs are against the wall. Aho’s scoring wasn’t needed in Game 1, but he did have an assist and a shot on goal. He will need to score in Game 2, because the Devils defense will bear down now that New Jersey trails in the series. Look for Aho to find the back of the net on Friday night.

The Pick: Sebastian Aho anytime goalscorer (+140)
