Best NHL Player Prop Bets Today – Tuesday, January 31st Boone Jenner The Columbus Blue Jackets will have a tough task on their hands Tuesday night as they’ll look to upset the Washington Capitals before they head into their All-Star break. With the odds stacked against them, they’ll need a big offensive performance out of Boone Jenner. Jenner has three goals in the month of January and has exceeded 2.5 shots on goal in six out of his nine games in January. While the Capitals allow the 10th fewest shots on goal in the NHL, Capitals goalie Charlie Lindgren has let a few games get out of control this season as he’s allowed four goals a few times and five goals to New Jersey back in November.

The Pick: Boone Jenner over 2.5 shots on goal (-135)
Tim Stützle Tim Stützle is having a great season for Ottawa as he’s third on the team in points and first on the team in goals. With a very balanced scoring attack, Stützle is one of the team's several top attackmen on the team. In a game where they’re playing a weak Canadiens team that allows the fourth most goals allowed to opposing teams, expect a big scoring night for all Senators attackmen on Tuesday night. In Saturday’s 5-0 win over Montreal, Stützle had four shots on goal and has had at least two shots on goal in 12 of his 13 games in January. In a game against a very bad Canadiens defense, Stützle exceeds 2.5 shots on goal and puts one in the back of the net as Ottawa wins convincingly.

The Pick: Tim Stützle over 2.5 shots on goal (-110)
Claude Giroux Sticking with the Senators, as shots on goal will come in bunches on Tuesday night, I think Giroux will also get involved for this Senators balanced attack. While Giroux has had one or fewer shots on goal five out his 13 games in the month of January, that number will rise against this vulnerable Canadiens defense. Giroux had four shots on goal, two goals and one assist in Saturday’s 5-0 victory over Montreal so his confidence will be sky high in this game as I see him getting another one in the back of the net and exceeding 2.5 shots on goal as well.

The Pick: Claude Giroux over 2.5 shots on goal (-110)
Frederik Andersen The Carolina Hurricanes have the best defense in the NHL this season as they allow the fewest shots on goal in the entire league. While Andersen has let a few games get away from him as he’s allowed five goals twice this season, once to the New York Islanders and once to the Edmonton Oilers, he’s been consistent as of late as the last time he allowed more than two goals was back in November. The Kings are more of a defensive team than an offensive team as their offense is right around the league average, so the Hurricanes should contain and slow down this Kings team which will play right into Andersen’s hand for a good night and a potential shutout.

The Pick: Frederik Anderson under 2.5 goals (-145)
