Best NHL Player Prop Bets Today – Wednesday, April 5th Patrick Kane It wouldn’t be a player prop article without our wingman Patrick Kane. When the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning take the ice for their Eastern Conference showdown on Wednesday night, the Rangers will look to Kane for scoring. While defense wasn’t a problem for the Rangers in their earlier games against the Lightning, offense was. Kane has been quiet in his last two games -– recording only one shot on goal in each -- but he will step it up in primetime against a middle-of-the-road Tampa Bay defense. The Lightning allow 31.26 shots on goal per game, which is the 15th-highest total in the NHL. Kane will get back on track to help the Rangers win a pivotal game.

The Pick: Patrick Kane of 2.5 shots on goal (-118)
Kyle Connor Left wing Kyle Connor is a guy Winnipeg has leaned on all season as the offensive glue that keeps the Jets together. When Connor and the Jets face the Flames on Wednesday night, it will feel like a Game 7, win-or-go-home matchup for both teams. That’s because Winnipeg is just two points ahead of Calgary in a race for the Western Conference’s final wild-card playoff spot. With so much on the line, Connor will continue to be a force. Not only do I think he will score a goal, I also think he will be heavily involved offensively. The Flames allow the third-fewest shots on goal per game at 27.17, but don’t get fooled by that number. Calgary just let a terrible Ducks team dismantle it for four goals on only 22 shots on Sunday night. Connor likely exceeds his 2.5 shots-on-goal prop and scores against the Flames.

The Pick: Kyle Connor over 2.5 shots on goal (-150)
Evander Kane The Edmonton Oilers just routed this Anaheim Ducks team over the weekend. Nothing has changed, nor will change on Wednesday night when the teams meet again in Anaheim. The Oilers now have a chance to steal the Pacific Division title away from Vegas, which lost to Nashville 3-2, on Tuesday. Kane was aggressive and dominant as usual against the Ducks in the 6-0 win on Saturday, finishing with five shots on goal. The Ducks allow 39.18 shots on goal per game -– the NHL’s highest total. With plenty of shots and goals to go around on Wednesday night, Kane will exceed his prop total without breaking much of a sweat.

The Pick: Evander Kane over 3.5 shots on goal (-118)
Connor McDavid Center Connor McDavid was also very aggressive as usual in the Oilers’ 6-0 win over the Ducks. Without repeating myself and giving Anaheim additional space in this article, let me just say that the Ducks are bad. Their defense is the worst in the league, and the Oilers have the best offense in the league. Don’t overthink McDavid’s prop, either. This Oilers team wants the Pacific title and will not overlook the Ducks as they go for another statement win.

The Pick: Connor McDavid over 3.5 shots on goal (-167)
