Best NHL Bets Today – Thursday, Jan 19: Odds, Picks and Predictions

Blackhawks vs Flyers Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Betting Lines 1/19Moneyline: Chicago Blackhawks (+180), Philadelphia Flyers (-225)
Puck line: Chicago Blackhawks +1.5 (-130), Philadelphia Flyers 1.5 (+110)
Total: Over/Under 6 goals

Blackhawks vs Flyers Prediction and Pick

Both of these teams have certainly underperformed this season, but the Philadelphia Flyers have shown some recent promise. While the Blackhawks continue to spiral out of control, the Flyers will look to get their ninth victory in 11 games on Thursday night.

This young Flyers team is starting to mature and grow up right in front of their Philadelphia faithful’s eyes. Center Kevin Hayes, who was benched earlier in the season, had his first career hat-trick on Tuesday night as the Flyers won big at home over the Anaheim Ducks 5-2.

While finding consistent goalie play has been tough, the real reason for the Flyers struggles has been their defense as a whole. The Flyers allow the 12th most shots on goal this season which, as a result, has put more pressure on Carter Hart and Samuel Ersson to perform.

While you can’t ever count out a team with Patrick Kane on it, the Blackhawks blue line certainly scares me as they have one of the worst defenses in hockey. Goalie Petr Mrazek allows 4.17 goals per game and has allowed seven goals in a single game twice this season.

Give me the over in this one.

The Pick: Over 6 goals (-115)

Capitals vs Coyotes Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Betting Lines 1/19

Moneyline: Washington Capitals (-210), Arizona Coyotes (+170)
Puck line: Washington Capitals -1.5 (+125), Arizona Coyotes +1.5 (-145)
Total: Over/Under 6 goals

Capitals vs Coyotes Prediction and Pick

The Washington Capitals will travel to Arizona on Thursday night looking to get their season back on track after losing three of their last four games. Luckily for the Capitals, facing the 14-25-5 Coyotes is just what the doctor's ordered for struggling teams. The Coyotes have the 27th-ranked defense in the NHL, followed up by allowing the fifth most shots on goal to opponents.

Alexander Ovechkin and the Capitals will right the ship on the road against a Coyotes team that has had some impressive upsets this season. They have beat the Carolina Hurricanes, Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs, but those all came earlier in the season. In the month of January, the Coyotes have one win, and that came on Tuesday night over Detroit in overtime.

Take the Capitals to win in regulation for better juice and better value as they’ll control this game from start to finish.

The Pick: Washington Capitals ML, 3-Way, Excludes OT (-125)

Devils vs Kraken Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NHL Betting Lines 1/19Moneyline: New Jersey Devils (-125) Seattle Kraken (+105)
Puck line: New Jersey Devils -1.5 (+200), Seattle Kraken +1.5 (-240)
Total: Over/Under 6.5 goals
Devils vs Kraken Prediction and PickPlaying on the road in Seattle is never an easy environment. But, at just one game above .500 at home this season, the Kraken’s 10-9-2 record will face a tough test against the road warriors in the New Jersey Devils. The Devils, who are 29-12-3 this season, will bring a league-best 18-2-1 road record into Seattle on Thursday night.

After defeating a gritty San Jose Sharks on the road in a shootout, the Devils, who haven’t played since Monday, will have star goalie Vitek Vanecek in goal. Vanecek and the Devils haven’t faced Seattle yet this season, but the last time the two teams squared up, Vanecek made 31 saves and the Devils won easily 5-2.

The Devils improve on their road record on Thursday night and roll in Seattle.

The Pick: New Jersey Devils ML (-125)
