Saints vs Cardinals Predictions & NFL Picks Week 7

The Arizona Cardinals have had this game circled for weeks as wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will make his season debut after serving his six-game suspension. Hopkins will look to help improve a Cardinals offense which has been struggling without him, currently ranking 23rd in the NFL with 19 points per game.

As for the New Orleans Saints, they’re dealing with health problems as starting quarterback Jameis Winston and backup Andy Dalton are battling injuries, along with wide receivers Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry. While all four are listed as questionable, Thomas and Landry have yet to log any sort of participation at practice in weeks, so they’re likely trending more toward doubtful.

Outside of their game in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Cardinals defense has actually been pretty good. They held Cooper Kupp to his lowest receiving total on the season with 44 yards, while Davante Adams was held to 12 yards, A.J. Brown to 32 yards, and DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett held to 34 and 17 yards respectively.

If Thomas and Landry can’t go on Thursday night then expect this Cardinals secondary to feast against the New Orleans passing attack. While the Arizona offense has been in shambles, they have been desperately missing Hopkins, so I expect them to be clicking on all cylinders when he returns Thursday night.

The Pick: Arizona Cardinals ML (-130)

Best NFL Player Prop Bets: Thursday Night Night Football Week 7

Kyler Murray

Yes, there’s been a bit of a disconnect between Murray and head coach Kliff Kingsbury for the Cardinals, but wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins returning to the lineup erases all of that. While Kinsbury and Murray may have their differences, Hopkins will take all of those problems away as he’s been the missing piece to Murray’s success.

In his last 10 games without Hopkins, Murray has a 64.9 per cent completion percentage, 246.8 passing yards per game, and an 11-5 touchdown-interception ratio, to go with an 84.9 passer rating. But in his last 10 games with Hopkins, Murray has a 71.6 per cent completion percentage for an average of 278.2 passing yards, with a 19-9 touchdown-interception ratio and a 106 passer rating.

I’m all in on Murray props for Thursday night.

The Picks: Kyler Murray over 1.5 passing touchdowns (+100)

Kyler Murray over 246.5 passing yards (-115)

Alvin KamaraWhile the Arizona secondary will have a field day with these Saints pass catchers on Thursday night, their rush defense will have their hands full with running back Alvin Kamara.

While the Cardinals have done a good job defensively against opposing wide receivers, against running backs they haven’t been as consistent, and outside of Christian McCaffrey, they really haven’t faced many players of Kamara’s caliber.

The Pick: Alvin Kamara over 99.5 rushing and receiving yards (-115)
Prop Bets for Tonight’s NFL Game
While I’m not completely sure if this Thursday night game will bring us fireworks or not, I do know that the Saints passing attack will be limited and, with it being Hopkins’ first game back, the Cardinals' offense will likely have some hiccups.

With that being said, both teams are top-12 in plays per game, with the Cardinals ranking first in the NFL with an average of 72 plays per game, and the Saints coming in at 12th with nearly 65 plays per game.

While the execution may not be there on every drive, these two teams are definitely going to make and take a lot of plays. So, I love the over 8.5 punts in this game, as I believe the two will have some offensive stalls.

The Pick: Over 8.5 punts (+110)
