Best NFL Bets Week 3: Odds, Picks, and Predictions

Bills vs. Commanders Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NFL Betting Lines Week 3
Moneyline: Buffalo Bills (-275), Washington Commanders (+220)
Spread: Buffalo Bills -6, Washington Commanders +6
Total: Over/Under 42.5 points

Bills vs. Commanders Predictions and Pick
After being stunned in a Week 1 Monday night game against a New York Jets team that lost future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a season-ending Achilles tendon injury on its opening drive, the Buffalo Bills bounced back in Week 2 and beat the Las Vegas Raiders 38-10.

The Bills offense was clicking, and running back James Cook was looking like his brother with 17 rushes for 123 yards against the Raiders. Suddenly, this Bills offense appears to have been reborn. While Buffalo has been effective on offense ever since quarterback Josh Allen came to town, this is by far the best offense Allen has been a part of since being drafted by Buffalo.

Meanwhile, the offseason hype surrounding the Washington Commanders is proving prophetic, because Washington is already 2-0. However, it should be noted that those victories came against the winless Arizona Cardinals and a Denver Broncos team that is still dealing with turmoil despite the arrival of new head coach Sean Payton.

Look for the Bills to squash and silence the Commanders hype on Sunday. Buffalo will look like an NFL team playing against a high school team, so take advantage of a spread that is, quite frankly, too low.

The Pick: Buffalo Bills -6 (-110)

Cowboys vs. Cardinals Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NFL Betting Lines Week 3
Moneyline: Dallas Cowboys (-700), Arizona Cardinals (+500)
Spread: Dallas Cowboys -12.5, Arizona Cardinals +12.5
Total: Over/Under 42.5 points
Cowboys vs. Cardinals Predictions and Pick
The injury that superstar cornerback Trevon Diggs suffered during practice on Wednesday was a crucial blow to the Dallas Cowboys, because Diggs will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL. Their run defense might only rank ninth in the NFL, but the Cowboys rank first in every other defensive category, including the one that has seen them allow only five points per game. While Diggs is a crucial part of this Cowboys defense and secondary, Dallas’ overall depth is ridiculous. Through their first two games, the Cowboys have won by an average margin of 30 points. Even without Diggs in the Dallas lineup, a big win over the Cardinals on Sunday is expected.

The Cardinals are 0-2, although they did have both the Washington Commanders and New York Giants on the ropes. That makes no difference, because neither of those teams can be compared to the Cowboys, who routed the Giants 40-0 in Week 1. Arizona quarterback Joshua Dobbs has never been able to make an impact during his seven-year NFL career, because he’s essentially a journeyman backup QB. The Cowboys have the fiercest pass rush in the NFL, a mastermind on defense in coordinator Dan Quinn, and a boatload of talent on both sides of the ball. The Cowboys were able to win by 20-plus points against both the Giants and New York Jets, and they will beat the Cardinals in the same fashion.

The Pick: Dallas Cowboys -12.5 (-110)

Bears vs. Chiefs Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NFL Betting Lines Week 3
Moneyline: Chicago Bears (+550), Kansas City Chiefs (-834)
Spread: Chicago Bears +12.5, Kansas City Chiefs -12.5
Total: Over/Under 48.5 points
Bears vs. Chiefs Predictions and Pick
They did win the most recent Super Bowl, but the Kansas City Chiefs have looked nothing like a defending NFL champion through their first two games of the 2023 season. They were upset at home by the Detroit Lions and then had to pull away in the second half in order to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars. To be fair, however, the Jaguars are not exactly an easy team to beat, since they now rank 10th in the NFL defensively, allowing 19.0 points per game.

Things will change in a hurry for Kansas City. The Chiefs now have tight end Travis Kelce back from his injury, and their key man on defense, DT Chris Jones, is also healthy and playing again. Jones already made a difference in the Week 2 victory and will have an even greater impact on the team as the season progresses. The Chiefs are also building a youthful wide receiver corps that is likely to emerge in the coming weeks.

So far this season, the Chicago Bears simply haven’t lived up to the expectations people had for them. Quarterback Justin Fields, who has yet to throw the ball efficiently, has made only two TD passes and been intercepted three times. Chicago’s offense ranks 26th in the NFL, and things will not improve against a Chiefs defense energized by Chris Jones’ return to the line. The Chiefs are coming back to Arrowhead determined to make up for their painful loss to the Lions in their Week 1 home-opener.

The Pick: Kansas Chiefs -12.5 (-110)
