2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament – March Madness Best Bets for Sweet 16 Round: WNCAAB Odds, Picks and Predictions

Miami FL vs Villanova Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - WNCAAB Betting Lines 3/24 Moneyline: Miami FL (+110), Villanova (-130)
Spread: Miami FL +3.5, Villanova -3.5
Total: Over/Under 130.5 points
Miami FL vs Villanova Prediction and Pick The Miami Hurricanes trailed Oklahoma State by 17 points at halftime of their NCAA tournament opener, and the team’s March Madness dreams appeared to be fading fast. What followed was an improbable second-half comeback that not only ended with a 62-61 win over the Cowgirls, but also sparked a run to the Sweet 16.

On Monday night, the Hurricanes looked like the better team for all four quarters in beating Indiana 70-88 on the Hoosiers’ home floor. That win sent them into Friday’s matchup against a Villanova team that has yet to be truly tested.

Miami’s run to the Sweet 16 is no accident. This is a skilled team that can shoot the ball well. Against Indiana, the Hurricanes went 8-for-14 from behind the arc -- shooting 57.1 percent from 3-point range. They have senior leadership in Haley Cavinder, Destiny Harden and Lola Pendande, who can all score in bunches.

While most teams in the women’s game still attack the basket, Miami buries opponents from behind the arc. The Hurricanes’ hot shooting won’t stop anytime soon, and neither will their tournament run.

The Pick: Miami FL ML (+110)

Ole Miss vs Louisville Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - WNCAAB Betting Lines 3/24 Moneyline: Mississippi (+110), Louisville (-153)
Spread: Mississippi  +2.5, Louisville 2.5
Total: Over/Under 126.5 points

Ole Miss vs Louisville Prediction and Pick

Like Miami, Ole Miss has been on an improbable NCAA tournament run. On Sunday night, the Rebels eliminated the No. 1 seed in their region, Stanford, on the Cardinal’s home floor. Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin has her team playing sound defense, as Ole Miss has kept opponents under 50 points in each of its first two tournament games.

The Rebels coach will continue to preach defense when her team faces Louisville on Friday night. It worked against two of the country’s better women’s players in Stanford’s Cameron Brink and Haley Jones, but Louisville’s Hailey Van Lith poses a whole new test for this Ole Miss defense.

Van Lith, who scored 20-plus points in each of her 2023 NCAA tournament games so far, will get another 20 against Ole Miss. When the Cardinals need a bucket, she will be there to provide it. While the Rebels present one of the stingier defenses Van Lith and Louisville have faced, the Cardinals will be ready because Van Lith is one of the best scorers left in the tournament.

The Pick: Louisville ML (-153)

Ohio State vs Connecticut Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - WNCAAB Betting Lines 3/25 Moneyline: Ohio State (+350), Connecticut (-550)
Spread: Ohio State +9.5, Connecticut -9.5
Total: Over/Under 144.5 points
Ohio State vs Connecticut Prediction and Pick Despite having lost guard Paige Bueckers for the entire season due to a torn ACL, the Connecticut Huskies are still one of the best teams in college basketball and a legitimate 2023 title contender. With five players averaging double-digit scoring totals, this Huskies team poses a true test for all opponents.

Connecticut won its opening-round game vs. Vermont by 43 points and beat Baylor by 19 points in Round 2. While there’s no sign of stopping the Huskies at this point, Ohio State will keep this game competitive. Like Connecticut, Ohio State can score. Six Buckeyes players average double-digit points per game, and the team has also surpassed 70 points in each of its tournament games.

From Aaliyah Edwards, Lou Lopez Senechal, and Azzi Fudd on the Connecticut side to Taylor Mikesell, Cotie McMahon, and Taylor Thierry on the Buckeyes’ roster, there will be a lot of scoring to go around in this matchup. The Huskies will likely prevail, but they’ll do so in a high-scoring battle.

The Pick: Over 144.5 (-120)
Best Women’s College Basketball Picks and Parlays for Sweet Sixteen Round WNCAAB 2-leg Parlay Bonus bet: (-100) odds I’ll keep this bonus parlay short and sweet, since it’s pretty much a free bingo square.

The Iowa Hawkeyes and LSU Tigers are two of the most lethal teams remaining in the NCAA tournament. That is in part because they have two of the best players left in LSU forward Angel Reese and Iowa guard Caitlin Clark.

Clark, who averages 26.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.6 assists, has scored at least 20 points in every game since mid-February. As a result, her Iowa Hawkeyes haven’t even been tested, and they will roll through Colorado on Friday night.

Meanwhile, the women from Baton Rouge, La., are led by Reese, who averages 23.8 points and 15.7 rebounds per game. She had 34 points and 15 rebounds in a 73-50 win over Hawaii to open the tournament before adding 25 points and 24 rebounds during a 66-42 victory over Michigan in Round 2.

While both Iowa and LSU have superstars on their rosters, these are complete teams rather than one-woman shows. Iowa’s Monika Czinano and LSU’s Alexis Morris have both been big contributors to their teams’ success this season.

LSU will roll over Utah on Friday night, followed by Iowa beating down Colorado later in the evening. Parlay both money lines together for a nice even return.

2-leg Parlay Pick: LSU ML (-225) & Iowa ML (-263) parlay odds: (-100)
