Hawaii vs. LSU Prediction and Pick South Carolina will likely run away and win the tournament this year, because Aliyah Boston is one of the best players in the country – if not the very best. However, if any team can contend with the Gamecocks, it will be LSU. As far as this first-round game goes, Hawaii comes in as a big underdog. That’s well deserved, since the Rainbow Wahine don’t stand a chance in this game. LSU is a deep team led by forward Angel Reese, who is nearly impossible to stop. A matchup nightmare for opponents, she averages 23.4 points and 15.5 rebounds per game. Look for LSU to jump out to an early lead that will continue to grow as the game progresses. Hawaii won its conference tournament, and kudos to them for that, but this team is no match for LSU.

Miami FL vs. Oklahoma State Prediction and Pick This battle of No. 8 vs. No. 9 seeds will be a good one. Miami and Oklahoma State will play their first-round game at the famous Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind., on Saturday. While most stories previewing this game focus on Miami twins Haley and Hanna Cavinder’s NIL deals, this one is just about basketball. Oklahoma State finished fourth in the Big 12 this season and really took care of business. However, the Cowgirls are stumbling into March, which concerns me. They lost their last three regular-season games and went 1-1 in conference tournament play. Although they stepped it up defensively in the Big 12 tournament, the Cowgirls had allowed an average of 72.3 points over their last three regular-season games. They will have to bring their defense in this one, because Miami can score. As cliche as it sounds, the Hurricanes rely heavily on their offense. In Miami’s past five victories, the Hurricanes averaged 75.6 points per game, while in their past five losses, they have averaged 51.8 points. Miami is led by its 1-2 punch of guard Haley Cavinder (12.6 PPG) and forward Destiny Harden (12 PPG). Miami will squeak out the victory at Assembly Hall to keep on dancing.

Alabama vs. Baylor Prediction and Pick This No. 10 vs. No. 7 matchup brings the SEC-Big 12 rivalry to the hardwood on Saturday, as both teams will try to keep dancing. The Alabama Crimson Tide are led by guard Brittany Davis, one of the best scorers in college basketball. Davis is averaging 17.3 points per game this season and has scored at least 20 points on 10 occasions. She will be a tough matchup for the Baylor Bears defense. The Bears have a more balanced attack with four players averaging double-figures. Baylor could make a run as the seventh seed out of the Seattle portion of the region, but they’re going to have to get through Alabama first. The Bears have let some games get away from them this season, but they can both score and play great defense as a group. While Davis’ scoring ability is a threat to any team in this tournament, Baylor will contain her enough to beat Alabama and advance.
