We have a behemothian NBA schedule on Wednesday night -- one that features 13 games. The best game should be the Clippers vs. Lakers matchup, assuming the James Harden trade is finalized by gametime. That one will be under a microscope to see how Clippers coach Tyronn Lue integrates his newest addition into the lineup. Starter? Reserve? Stay tuned.

In the gambling game, we stay away from unknowns such as that one until we have a body of work against which we can judge a certain player or team. For now, we have an early NBA season that is producing numerous surprises. No surprise was bigger than the Spurs’ victory at Phoenix on Tuesday night. San Antonio came back from a 20-point deficit behind 18 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks from super-rookie Victor Wembanyama.

Right now, the best-known commodity in terms of gambling trends would be the fact that Brooklyn and Philadelphia have both gone 3-0 against the spread and 3-0 on over/unders. Dallas also is 3-0 on over/unders, while the defending champion Denver Nuggets are 0-4 in that category.

We are seeing several players establish themselves by rising above their norms over the first week of the 2023-24 regular season, and those are the guys we are going to focus on in today’s player-prop bets. Whether you choose to parlay these picks is up to you. Sometimes it is best to try to build a positive bankroll through a series of small victories at short lines. Everyone’s strategy is different, and you get to make the choice.

NBA Player Prop Bets Today: Wednesday, November 1st. 2023

Best Kings vs. Warriors Player-Prop Bets

Domantas Sabonis, Rebounds 18+

This will be the second meeting of the young season between Sacramento and Golden State. The last time they played, Domantas Sabonis had 19 points and 18 rebounds in a rematch of the teams’ first-round playoff series from last season. Sabonis always has his way with Warriors center Kevon Looney, and Warriors coach Steve Kerr might throw rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis at him tonight after the first-year player from Indiana blocked four shots two nights ago.

The Pick: Sabonis to grab 18 or more rebounds (+625).

Best Pelicans vs. Thunder Player-Prop Bets

Chet Holmgren, Blocked Shots; 3+ (+245)

Rookie Chet Holmgren had zero blocks in his debut at Chicago, seven blocks in the next game at Cleveland, zero the next night against Denver, and then four against Detroit on Monday night. But after seeing what Victor Wembanyama did in the final minute against the Suns on Tuesday night, which was beyond awesome, this kid will be super stoked to keep pace with the French teen phenom in the NBA Rookie of the Year race. Side prediction: Two of the blocks will come from behind against Zion Williamson.

The Pick: Chet Holmgren to block at least three shots (+245)

Best Nets vs. Heat Player Prop Bets

Tyler Herro, Points 35+ (+645)

Nobody in the NBA has taken more shots through the first week of the season than Miami’s Tyler Herro, who spent the summer wondering whether the Heat would trade him for Damian Lillard. After that did not happen, Herro has seemed determined to overtake Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo as the Heat’s most important player. His point totals over the first four games are 16, 28, 22, and 35. He has also taken at least 20 shots in every single game. This should be a track meet against a young Nets team that runs and guns.

The Pick: Tyler Herro to score at least 35 points (+675).

Best Bulls vs. Mavericks Player Prop Bets

Luka Dončić, 3-pointers made 5+ (+200)

The NBA’s leading scorer has posted 33, 49, and 45 points in his first three games for a Mavericks team that is tied with Sacramento for the NBA lead in points per game (125.3). Tonight, Luka Doncic faces a Chicago Bulls team that held a players-only meeting after its first game. Doncic was 3-for-11, 9-for-14, and 6-for-12 on 3-pointers over his first three games, so he will be jacking them up again on Wednesday. Three seems easy.

The Pick: Luka Dončić to make at least five 3-pointers (+200).
