The best bet out there today is one you can make with your buddies: Steph Curry will not go scoreless in the first half for a second straight game. He did that Tuesday night at Washington, but tonight he is at Madison Square Garden for a nationally televised game against the New York Knicks, and Curry does not do back-to-back goose eggs.

Tuesday night in Washington, Curry went 0-for-7 in the first half, missing six 3-pointers and recording three airballs. It was a rare off night for the most prolific shooter in NBA history, and the first time since 2012 that Curry had a scoreless first half.

That is a dozen years, three of which were Leap Days like today: February 29. It is also a good bet that someone you run into today will believe it is March 1.

Wrong.

That’s tomorrow, by which time we will know what Steph Curry and LeBron James each pulled off on opposite coasts. James is clearly drinking from the fountain of youth again, having singlehandedly taken down the Los Angeles Clippers last night with 19 of his 34 points coming in the fourth quarter as the Lakers came back from a 21-point deficit for their 32nd victory – two more than the 30 wins achieved by the 10th-place Golden State Warriors, who have won seven of their last eight road games, including six in a row.

What will Curry have cooking at MSG tonight? We have a recipe for success to make this a profitable evening as February gives us an extra day for the first time since 2020.

NBA Player Prop Bets Today for Thursday, February, 29, 2024

Steph Curry (GSM) 35+ points

Curry has scored in the teens in three of the last five games, which is not in tune with what he was doing prior to the All-Star break when he knocked down 36 3-pointers in the final four games prior to the break, scoring more than 40 twice. Coach Steve Kerr said Curry has been playing poorly because he is tired, which makes sense when you are talking about a 35-year-old who is trying to keep something in the tank for the postseason. Curry has not had a monster game at Madison Square Garden since 2013 when he scored 54 and went 11-for-13 on 3s, and tonight we expect him to be inspired by what he saw from the 39-year-old James on TV late last night.

The Pick: Steph Curry to score at least 35 points (+350)

Dejounte Murray (ATL) triple-double

These teams combined to score a ridiculous 292 points when they played on Nov. 22, but Spencer Dinwiddie (now with the Lakers) and Young (injured) were the main offensive stars. Tonight, the Nets will be leaning heavily on Mikal Bridges, who is coming off a season-low 4-point performance against Orlando. For the Hawks, Murray finished one rebound shy of a triple-double against Orlando two games ago and is due for his first of the season. He used to get them in bunches when he played for the Spurs.

The Pick: Dejounte Murray to record a triple-double (+1600)

Damian Lillard (MIL) double-double

Lillard, the MVP of the NBA All-Star Game, is coming off a game vs. Charlotte in which he had 23 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in just 25 minutes. He was one rebound shy of a triple-double three games ago vs. Minnesota and is settling in nicely next to Giannis Antetokounmpo as Rivers has the Bucks looking like a legit championship contender thanks to a renewed focus on defense. Lillard has eight double-doubles this season and should get a ninth if the Hornets can keep this one close enough to get Lillard’s minutes into the 30s. Milwaukee is favored by 11.5.

The Pick: Damian Lillard to have a double-double (+400).

Kyle Kuzma (WSH) 30+ points

Kuzma remains a beloved member of Lakers Nation despite having been traded nearly three years ago, and he has scored 27 in each of his last two games. Last season, he had 22 points and 16 rebounds in a two-point loss when Washington visited Los Angeles, and in 2022 he had 23 points and seven rebounds in a 16-point loss. With Avdija out, Kuzma may end up playing the entire 48 minutes.

The Pick: Kyle Kuzma to score at least 30 points (+375)
