NBA Player Prop Bets Today for Thursday, November 30, 2023

We all get a break until Monday from the NBA In-Season Tournament, which made us use our higher-math skills to figure out which teams would advance to the final eight, since several of those spots were based upon point-differential.

We are back to regular/degular, as they call it in the ’hood. That is what we had on Wednesday night in the NBA and what we will have again tonight. Everyone who had the Orlando Magic to have the longest winning streak in the league should raise their hands and/or post those earlier predictions to social media. That team is going to be a heck of a lot better than anyone predicted.

With Phoenix losing at Toronto on Wednesday night, the Magic now have the longest winning streak in the NBA and are tied with Milwaukee for the league’s third-best record. Orlando is on the Betway board at +3300 to win the Eastern Conference and +8000 to win the championship, and while we would not advise such a wager, we can assure you that we encourage worthy flyer bets … and those might be two of them.

Thursday’s schedule includes nine games, none of which will be on TNT because the NBA cedes Thursday nights in November to the NFL, and the Seahawks are playing the Cowboys in Dallas on Amazon Prime. If you had Amazon Prime being more powerful than Turner Sports in your media company strength pool, congrats.

Let’s have at it:

Best Charlotte Hornets vs. Brooklyn Nets Player-Prop Bet

Terry Rozier, 10+ assists

The Hornets received devastating news on Wednesday when they learned that their best player, LaMelo Ball, will be out for an extended period of time with a serious sprain to the same right ankle that has undergone multiple surgeries. Ball had scored 37, 34, 36, and 34 points in the previous four games and was averaging 8.2 assists – the fifth-best mark in the league. Ish Smith, Ball’s backup, is a wily 35-year-old veteran who might fill the role at point guard. However, in the short term expect the Hornets to do most of their playmaking through another vet, Terry Rozier, who has played in only seven games but had nine assists in two of them.

The Pick: Terry Rozier to record at least 10 assists (+500)

Best Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat Player-Prop Bet

Myles Turner, 3+ blocks and steals

Indiana is coming off a horrific home loss to the Portland Trail Blazers and is a 2½-point underdog against the Heat in Miami. Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle will likely lean more on his starters than usual in this game. One of those starters is center Myles Turner. He is second on the team in scoring and is a unique inside-outside threat who also produces terrific defensive stats. In each of the past five games, Turner has had at least four blocks and steals combined, so despite the relatively short odds, a 30 percent return is what it is. There are bankers on Wall Street who would give their left arm for a 30 percent return. If Turner stays out of foul trouble, this one looks like a safe wager.

The Pick: Myles Turner to record at least three blocks plus steals (+130)

Best Atlanta Hawks at San Antonio Spurs Player Prop Bets

De’Andre Hunter, 25+ points

When folks talk about the Atlanta Hawks, they talk about Trae Young and few others. But De’Andre Hunter is arguably the second-best player on this team, and he has scored at least 20 points five times this season. Against the Spurs, he will be facing a team he played well against in 2022-23, scoring 24 points in a game last February. San Antonio will use Tre Jones, Devin Vassell, or perhaps even Keldon Johnson as the primary defender on Young, and as long as Young reads the defenses properly and hits the open man, the Hawks should have plenty of easy scoring opportunities from the perimeter (going inside against Spurs center Victor Wembanyama is a recipe for having your shot blocked). Hunter is a scorer who has to defer to Young and his ego too often. On Thursday, expect him to get heavy minutes and a ton of looks, because the Spurs will be singularly focused on Young.

The Pick: DeAndre Hunter to score 25 or more points (+650).

Best Los Angeles Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors Player-Prop Bet

Kawhi Leonard, 35+ points

Kawhi Leonard scored 34 points on Wednesday night when the Clippers defeated Sacramento for their fifth win in the past seven games. He has been taking on the alpha-dog role on the offensive end with 31 points two games ago and 34 on Wednesday (on 14-for-18 shooting). Had Leonard, who is also logging heavy minutes, not missed two free throws against the Kings, he would have had 36 points. No matter how much fans might like Paul George, Russell Westbrook, or James Harden, Leonard is the best player on the Clippers, and he is as competitive as they come. On the road in what should be a supercharged game (no odds have been posted on another Draymond Green ejection), Leonard should rise to the moment and have a season-high in points. The Clippers have been counted out too early.

The pick: Kawhi Leonard to score 35 or more points (+650)
