The Phoenix Suns brought this series back to life when the series went to the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona for games two and three. It took 120 plus performances to do so but they were able to tie the series at two games a piece before returning to reality in game 5 in Denver. In game 5 the Nuggets showed their dominance from games one and two as they went on to win 118-102. The series now returns to Phoenix where the Suns' backs are against the wall with one more loss ending their storybook season.

Nuggets vs Suns Injury Report

Collin Gillespie, who didn’t even play a game for the Denver Nuggets this season, remains out for the year. For the Suns, Chris Paul remains out with a groin injury and Deandre Ayton is questionable but expected to play with a rib injury.

Nuggets vs Suns Prediction

The arrival of Kevin Durant to Phoenix leapfrogged the Suns to the frontrunners to win the NBA Championship this season. However, the arrival of Durant hasn’t felt that way lately as the Suns are on the verge of elimination as they enter game 6 on Thursday night. While the production and chemistry between Devin Booker and Durant has been there, the production from their role players and bench players hasn’t been there consistently. While not utilizing forward Darius Bazely off of the bench still confuses me as Phoenix could use his offense, the Suns will need solid performances from their bench and role players in game 6 if they want to extend this series to seven games.

Durant and Booker will likely need to score close to 40 points each like they did in games 3 and 4 if they want to extend this series. Denver is a much deeper team and that’s shown in this series. Defending Jamal Murray is a true matchup problem for the Suns even when Chris Paul was in and with Ayton being banged up, it makes it harder for him to defend the post against the two-time MVP in Nikola Jokic. While Jokic has shown his presence, Aaron Gordon is also a matchup problem for Phoenix as they have no one to guard him with Jokic getting Ayton’s focus. I think the Nuggets close this game out on Thursday night and get to rest up as they’ll wait and see who advances from the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors series.

Best NBA Same Game Parlay Picks Today for Nuggets vs Suns - NBA Playoffs Game 6: 5-Leg Parlay Picks (+650)

Game Total

Outside of game two, which neither team failed to score 100 points, the scoring in this series has been there despite the Suns limited bench production and inconsistent production from their role players. With the Suns on the verge of elimination expect big games from Booker and Durant that will carry the Suns offensively. As for the Nuggets, they impart so many matchup problems for the Suns that scoring is little to no challenge as they’ve averaged 115.6 points per game in this series so far. We’re going with an alternate total again on this one to play it safe but expect a lot of scoring in game 6.

Leg-1 SGP Pick: Over 219.5 (-220)

Kevin Durant

The Kevin Durant era in Phoenix hasn’t gone as planned as his arrival brought instant championship expectations. With the Suns trailing 3-2 on the verge of elimination, those championship expectations seem more like a dream at this point. But with Phoenix returning home to the Footprint Center, expect a big performance out of Durant as he’s going to do whatever he can to extend this series to a seventh game. This postseason, Durant hasn’t exceeded 30 points like he normally would on previous teams (he exceeded 30 points twice in the first round against the Los Angeles Clippers and has exceeded 30 points twice so far in this round against the Nuggets). Durant and Booker both know that they’ll need to be on their A++ game on Thursday night so Durant over 30 points should almost be expected.

Leg-2 SGP Pick: Kevin Durant 30+ Points (-165)

Devin Booker

Devin Booker has been on a tear this postseason as he’s arguably having the best postseason of any player outside of Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. Booker is averaging 35.9 points per game this postseason and has scored 45 or more points three times so far. In a true elimination game for the Suns, scoring 30 points should come quickly for Booker as getting into the 40s seems more likely for Thursday night. While Booker has been on a tear offensively he’s still remained effective as he’s shooting 60.1 percent from the field this postseason.

Leg-3 SGP Pick: Devin Booker 30+ Points (-190)

Aaron Gordon

With this being a close out game the attention for Phoenix defense will likely remain on Nuggets Center Nikola Jokic as he’s a matchup problem for any opposing defense. With Deandre Ayton having his hands full with Jokic, it’ll open up opportunities for Aaron Gordon who poses a true test for this Suns defense as they have no one that can matchup with him defensively outside of Ayton. Gordon started this series off great, scoring 23 points in game one and 16 points in game two. He’s cooled off a bit over the past three games, averaging 10 points per game, but expect a bigger performance from him on Thursday night.

Leg-4 SGP Pick: Aaron Gordon 12+ Points (-210)

Jamal Murray

Jamal Murray has been on a tear this postseason averaging 25.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game this postseason. Murray has scored 40 points once and eclipsed 30 points three times so far. Being one more win away from heading to the Conference Finals, expect a big game out of Murray who knows Durant and Booker are going to give the Nuggets everything they have offensively on the other side. Murray probably has the most favorable matchup of any Denver player as the Suns Cameron Payne is no match for Murray.

Leg-5 SGP Pick: Jamal Murray over 35 points, assists & rebounds (-130)
