The Sacramento Kings played the New Orleans Pelicans five times during the 2023-24 regular season and went 0-5, losing those games by 12, 33, 10, 5, and 36 points. It is exceedingly rare for teams to play six times without meeting in a playoff series, but that is where we find ourselves this particular Friday evening when the field for the NBA playoffs will be set.

Kings vs Pelicans Prediction and Pick

Sacramento vs. New Orleans is the nightcap of a rare ESPN/TNT doubleheader that features Miami vs. Chicago in the opener. By midnight, we will know the identities of all 16 teams looking to bring the NBA championship trophy back to their home cities.

New Orleans will have to try to qualify without Zion Williamson, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Lakers in the Pels’ first play-in game and will be out for the foreseeable future. Sacramento is coming into this matchup at full strength and is a 1½-point favorite on the road.

Favored? With an 0-5 record against this particular team?

Well, that is a testament to how valuable Williamson is to New Orleans, which now must again try to find a way forward without him. Williamson has missed 144 games over his four NBA seasons since being the league’s No. 1 overall draft pick out of Duke in 2019, and his next playoff game will be his first.

Who will step up in his absence? Who will rise to the occasion for the Kings? Let’s try to answer both of those questions as we build a same-game parlay on the Betway Sportsbook and attempt to go into the weekend heavily in the black.

Best NBA Same-Game Parlay Picks Today for Kings vs. Pelicans – 4-Leg Parlay Picks (+45000)

Jose Alvarado, 5+ assists (+450)

The Pelicans’ backup point guard is a defensive specialist who had seven assists in his team’s play-in loss to the Lakers on Tuesday, tying his season-high. The kid from Queens has a history of peaking in the postseason, and while we expect him to be a pest against Sacramento guard De’Aaron Fox on the defensive end, we were also impressed by his ability to produce assists last time out. Tonight he will be looking for Larry Nance Jr. and Trey Murphy III for the same type of assists off dunks that he had against Los Angeles, and we love his moxie.

SGP Leg-1: Jose Alvarado to have at least five assists (+450)

Larry Nance Jr., 12+ rebounds

New Orleans’ Larry Nance Jr. came off the bench to record 10 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists against the Lakers on Tuesday, and he is expected to replace Williamson in Friday’s starting lineup. The Pels are going against the league’s leading rebounder in Domantas Sabonis, but their center (also from Lithuania) is Jonas Valanciunas, who always plays his best against Sabonis. If those two are locking each other up, there will be a lot of missed shots up for grabs. And since Nance Jr. had a dozen boards last time out in just 28 minutes, we absolutely love this prop.

SGP Pick 2: Larry Nance Jr. to grab at least 12 rebounds (+950).

Trey Murphy III, 20+ points (+150)

The last time the Pelicans and Kings played each other, Trey Murphy had 27 points. His athleticism is very tough for the Kings to defend with ground-bound forward Harrison Barnes and Sasha Vezenkov, and the Pels will look to capitalize in the one area where they have a distinct advantage, especially with Murphy: Athleticism. Murphy runs hot and cold, so we are staying away from the more enticing +450 line on 25 points or more. Remember, the trick to a parlay is to make sure everything hits.

SGP Pick 3: Trey Murphy III to score at least 20 points (+150)

Keegan Murray, 35+ points and rebounds (+500)

The Kings’ Keegan Murray went off for 32 points and nine rebounds in his team’s play-in victory that eliminated the Golden State Warriors, and he is one of the few Sacramento players with the athleticism to match up against the New Orleans forwards. We expect head coach Mike Brown to start him again and ride him as much as possible, even if that means playing him the entire 48 minutes. This is what good coaches will do when faced with the prospect of a do-or-die game, and Brown is one of the better coaches in the Association.

SGP Leg-4: Keegan Murray to have at least 35 combined points and rebounds (+500)

Putting those four props together produces a same-game-parlay line of +45000, and you need not even worry about who is going to win. A $10 wager would pay $4,510, and a $100 wager would bring back $45,100, which might just get you an electric ride off the Tesla lot. Good luck!
