Best NBA Player Prop Bets for Today: 1/4/23

Donovan Mitchell

Donovan Mitchell is coming off a career-high game on Monday night as he dropped 71 points. Without his backcourt partner Darius Garland, Mitchell carried the load offensively for the Cavaliers and will have to do so again on Wednesday night if they want to get another victory.

While Mitchell absolutely torched the Chicago Bulls on Monday, he also grabbed eight rebounds and 11 assists, which were both nearly season-highs for him. With Garland expected to miss this game as well, expect Mitchell to fill up the statsheet again.

The Pick: Donovan Mitchell over 40.5 points, assists, rebounds (-115)

Myles Turner

This is turning into one of my favorite props to bet as Myles Turner has been a magnet at times on the boards this season. I know his 7.9 rebounds per game aren’t Marcus Camby numbers, but factored in with his minutes played, he’s certainly taken advantage of these low prop numbers.

I also know it's Turner vs. Joel Embiid, and you’re probably thinking I’m crazy. But Embiid isn’t a crazy rebounder, and the 76ers are the 29th-ranked team in rebounds per game. Give me Turner on the boards in this one.

The Pick: Myles Turner over 8.5 rebounds (+115)

CJ McCollum

The New Orleans Pelicans will take on the Houston Rockets Wednesday night without two of their top stars. Zion Willamson and Brandon Ingram have both been ruled out of this contest and that leaves this game on CJ McCollum’s shoulders.

The Rockets rank 27th in defensive efficiency and allow 115.7 points per game, so there will be a lot of points available for McCollum in this one. The last time Ingram and Williamson were both out, McCollum had 40 points, eight rebounds and nine assists.

The Pick: CJ McCollum over 37.5 points, assists, rebounds (-130)
