Best NBA Bets for Wednesday, 1/4/23: Odds, Picks and Predictions

Suns vs Cavaliers Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NBA Betting Lines 1/4Moneyline: Phoenix Suns (+160), Cleveland Cavaliers (-190)
Spread: Phoenix Suns +4.5, Cleveland Cavaliers -4.5
Total: Over/Under 218 points

Suns vs Cavaliers Predictions and Pick

Donovan Mitchell comes into this game red-hot after a 71-point performance on Monday night against the Chicago Bulls. While Mitchell carried the load offensively for the Cavaliers, their defense was the problem. The Cavaliers trailed by as much as 21 points at one point in that game. They were able to rally back and win 145-134 after overtime but their defense was a serious issue.

While the Cavaliers only allow 106.9 points per game, which ranks first in the NBA, and are still the best defensive team in the league, this team suffered without Darius Garland and Evan Mobley on Monday night. Garland is expected to be out again with a thumb injury for Wednesday, while Mobley is listed as a game time decision with an ankle injury. If Mobley is out as well, the Suns will have their way offensively in this game, even without Devin Booker.

Their offense has been inconsistent without Booker as they scored only 83 points in a loss to the Knicks on Monday night, but over the last eight games without Booker they’ve averaged 109.8 points. When it comes to defense, this Suns team is middle of the road and they’ll struggle with Mitchell and the rest of the Cavaliers in this one.

This will be another close, high-scoring game for each of these teams.

The Pick: Over 218 (-110)

Bucks vs Raptors Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NBA Betting Lines 1/4

Moneyline: Milwaukee Bucks (+140), Toronto Raptors (-165)
Spread: Milwaukee Bucks -3.5, Toronto Raptors +3.5
Total: Over/Under 226.5 points

Bucks vs Raptors Predictions

The last time the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Toronto Raptors was back on January 27th, 2021. Now, it is fair to note that Giannis Antetokounmpo did miss a few of those matchups with injuries, but still, that’s a pretty long stretch to go without a victory, with the Raptors winning the last five matchups.

The Bucks' luck will change on Wednesday night as Antetokounmpo will be playing and the Raptors won’t have a way to slow him down. Toronto has been been a completely different team since December, losing 10 of their 15 games last month.

With Antetokounmpo back in the lineup, things don’t look promising for Toronto, who will start a six-game homestand on Wednesday night.

The Pick: Milwaukee Bucks ML (+140)

Blazers vs Timberwolves Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NBA Betting Lines 1/4

Moneyline: Portland Trail Blazers (-110), Minnesota Timberwolves (-110)
Spread: Portland Trail Blazers -1, Minnesota Timberwolves +1
Total: Over/Under 233.5 points

Blazers vs Timberwolves Predictions and Pick

These two teams met back in December, facing each other in two games in a row, both of which were high-scoring affairs. It was pure Dame time as the Damian Lillard scored 36 and 38 points and the Blazers won both games.

Both teams enter this matchup as two of the higher-scoring teams in the NBA, with both being among the best fastbreak offenses in the league. As for defending fastbreaks, both rank towards the bottom of the NBA defensively.

Combine that with both teams being two of the most turnover-heavy teams in the league, this game sets up for a fast-paced, high-scoring affair.

The Pick: Over 233.5 (-110)
