Best NBA Player Prop Bets Today: Thursday, March, 2nd

76ers vs Mavericks Player Prop Bets Today

Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving is settling in nicely in Dallas, averaging 20 points per game, 6.5 assists and five rebounds. Kyrie's ability to quickly figure things out with Luka Doncic will be crucial, as the Dallas Mavericks are in a tightly-contested Western Conference playoff race.

Dallas, which has lost four of its last five, will face a challenging matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers, and Irving is unlikely to have a big scoring night.

The Sixers are the NBA’s second-best team this season against opposition point guards -- allowing an average 20.96 points per game. Only the Cleveland Cavaliers fare better in that category, and Philly performs at a high level on both ends of the floor.

These two teams take the fewest field-goal attempts per game in the NBA. Both like to run games at their own pace, and neither have high-tempo running offenses.

Considering Irving's average of 20 points since joining the Dallas team, and the expected pace of the game -- coupled with the Philadelphia 76ers' strong defense -- I’m favoring his under points total. Additionally, Kyrie has not scored more than 23 points in the three games he has played since returning from the All-Star break.

The Pick: Kyrie Irving - Under 24.5 Points (-105)

Raptors vs Wizards Player Prop Bets Today

OG Anunoby

This is one of my favorite NBA picks for tonight's slate. OG Anunoby missed the first three and a half weeks of February due to injury, and it took him a few games to find his stroke again after returning to the lineup on Feb. 24.

Back in November, the Raptors forward averaged more than 21 points per game, although that decreased to 18.6 points in December. However, based on his recent performance against Chicago, it appears he may have regained his form during the Raptors’ current hot streak.

In the win over the Bulls, Anunoby contributed 17 points, eight rebounds, and two assists, and I believe he can replicate this performance against the Wizards tonight. Toronto is currently playing well, having won three of its last four games, and OG Anunoby can provide a spark.

The Pick: OG Anunoby - Total Points + Rebounds + Assists Over 19.5 (-115)

Clippers vs Warriors Player Prop Bets Today

Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson has scored 18 points in both of Golden State’s earlier games against the LA Clippers this season, and tonight’s game will be his third opportunity to go up against Kawhi and Co. Granted, Steph Curry played for the Warriors in the first game on Nov. 23, but he wasn’t in the rotation for the second on Feb. 14.

Jordan Poole scored 28 points in that second Warriors-Clippers matchup, while Thompson played a supporting role with 18 points, and Draymond Green added another 15 for the Warriors.

The Clippers are a pretty middle-of-the-road team defensively, but they’re not as welcoming as the Oklahoma City Thunder or Houston Rockets, who both allowed 40-plus points against Klay in February.

Those two games elevated Thompson’s scoring average for the month, finishing with 25.5 points per game in February, but his per-game performance is very up-and-down when it comes to scoring. Klay hit 12 threes in 17 attempts against the Rockets and totaled 42 points, but he had 22 and 18 in the two games prior to that -- one of which was against the Clippers.

It is unlikely that Klay will have the same level of involvement against Kawhi's team in Los Angeles. For tonight's game, I expect Klay to score between 18 and 21 points and attempt a more modest eight or nine 3-pointers.

The Pick: Klay Thompson - Under 25.5 Points (-110)

Paul George

Paul George’s 3-point stats are also singing to me. He might have improved on January’s 2.4 3-pointers per game, but his numbers are still down from the 2022 portion of the season.

The Clippers forward has made at least four 3-pointers just five times in the past two months, and two of those games went to overtime. George’s 3-pointers aren’t the primary option for the Clippers, even if their opponent is a high-volume 3-point shooting team.

While this might be a 120-plus point game for the Clippers, I’m confidentrounding out my four-game selection by picking George to come in under the 3.5 line for 3-pointers.

The Pick: Paul George - Under 3.5 Three Pointers Made (-175)
