Best NBA Bets for Thursday 1/19/23: Odds, Picks and Predictions

Warriors vs Celtics Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NBA Betting Lines 1/19Moneyline: Golden State Warriors (+200), Boston Celtics (-240)
Spread: Golden State Warriors +6, Boston Celtics -6
Total: Over/Under 238.5 points
Warriors vs Celtics Prediction and PickThese two teams met in last year's NBA Finals where the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics and returned to Championship dominance. When they met back in December, the Warriors reminded the Celtics that they were still the superior team, winning 123-107. With Jaylen Brown expected to return after missing three games with a groin injury, the Celtics would like to right the ship against the Warriors at home and show the defending champions that they can play with them.

The young duo of Brown and Jayson Tatum has certainly taken the NBA and the Eastern Conference by storm as they sit at first place with a 33-12 record. But the dynamic duo of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson continue to remind the NBA that when they’re on the court together anything is possible.

While the Warriors have certainly come back to earth this season as they sit at 22-22, the Celtics won’t write them off as they know and they’ve seen what this exact Warriors team can do. This a true rivalry that's brewing, and stats, history, and records doesn’t matter. This will be a get-your-popcorn-ready type of show on TNT and, while the Warriors haven’t looked like their Championship selves as of late, give me the points all night.

The Pick: Golden State Warriors +6 (-110)

Nets vs Suns Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NBA Betting Lines 1/19Moneyline: Brooklyn Nets (-120), Phoenix Suns (+100)
Spread: Brooklyn Nets -1.5, Phoenix Suns +1.5
Total: Over/Under 223 points
Nets vs Suns Prediction and PickSince losing Kevin Durant to a knee injury, the Brooklyn Nets are 0-3 and averaging 99.3 points per game, more than 10 points down from their season average of 113.5. Not only have they struggled to reach 100 points during that stretch, but that average is the worst scoring performance in the league for any team by at least six points. They’ll now draw a Phoenix Suns team which is top 10 in the NBA in opponents' points per game.

With the Suns’ Chris Paul on the verge of returning and the Nets’ Kyrie dealing with calf soreness, this Brooklyn team is in true danger of teetering right out of the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference quickly. While the scoring production of Durant would hurt any team, their third star, now second in line, Ben Simmons truly hinders them offensively as he hasn’t cracked more than 10 points since December and hasn’t reached 20 points since November.

There are some big question marks surrounding this game, and  if Irving sits and Paul returns, then the Suns will win this game at home tonight convincingly. But, if Irving returns and Paul sits, then we could be in line for a close game as Irving could lead this team to victory.

Watch the injury report as this game gets closer.

The Pick: Phoenix Suns ML (+100)

76ers vs Trail Blazers Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under - NBA Betting Lines 1/19Moneyline: Philadelphia 76ers (-140), Portland Trail Blazers (+120)
Spread: Philadelphia 76ers -2.5, Portland Trail Blazers +2.5
Total: Over/Under 233 points
76ers vs Trail Blazers Prediction and Pick

The Philadelphia 76ers are continuing their way to the top spot in the Eastern Conference as center Joel Embiid continues to perform at an MVP level. Averaging 33.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game, Embiid just can’t be stopped. The 76ers, who’ve lost only two games in the month of January, will now take their three-game winning streak into Portland.

While Dame time will be in full effect as Damian Lillard has been playing out of his mind as of late, averaging 42.5 points in last four games, the Blazers' 22nd-ranked post defense will be no match for Embiid.

Embiid will have another MVP-level night and, while Lillard comes into this game red hot, the 76ers defend opposing point guards better than anyone in the NBA, allowing the fewest points per game to that position.

The 76ers win and Embiid dominates.

The Pick: Philadelphia 76ers ML (-140)
