Tampa Bay Rays to beat Texas Rangers

The Rangers are on a nine-game losing streak and were swept in their last three series against the Los Angeles Angels, Seattle Mariners and Colorado Rockies.

Texas has dropped to last place in the AL West with a 22-36 record, while Tampa Bay has climbed to the top of the AL East thanks to a run of 17 victories in 20 games.

The Rays will start Josh Fleming, who has picked up the win in four of his last five appearances, although he only started one of those games. The left-hander has been excellent this season, going 5-3 with a 2.98 ERA.

On the mound for the Rangers will be Kyle Gibson, who has also been red hot this year, posting a 2.24 ERA and a 3-0 record.

Gibson has gone at least six innings in each of his last seven starts but just hasn’t received enough support from his offense, as the Rangers have lost two of the last three games that he has started.

Chicago White Sox to beat Detroit Tigers

The White Sox sit top of the AL Central with a 34-22 record, mainly thanks to their dominance at home. They’ve gone 21-9 at Guaranteed Rate Field, which is the best home record across both leagues.

They won the first contest of this four-game set 4-1 on Thursday and it’s hard to look past them on Friday, given that the Tigers are now 23-33 and have gone just 10-18 on the road.

Detroit should at least get a quality start out of Spencer Turnbull, who has gone 4-2 this season with a 2.93 ERA and pitched a no hitter against Seattle in May.

Turnbull is 0-3 in his last three starts against the White Sox, however, giving up 14 runs on 15 hits in 15.1 total innings.

Starting for Chicago is Dallas Keuchel, who is 4-1 with a 4.53 ERA and has earned the win in three of his last four starts.

Milwaukee Brewers to beat Arizona Diamondbacks

Milwaukee beat Arizona 7-4 in the first of this four-game set on Thursday, meaning it has now won six of its last seven games to climb to 30-26 for the season.

The Brewers rank in the bottom half of the National League for runs per game this season, but their pitching staff has kept them above .500.

The Diamondbacks, meanwhile, have lost 14 of their last 16 games and are now 20-38 and in last place in the NL West.

Milwaukee will have the advantage on the mound for this game with Freddy Peralta set to start. The righty is 5-1 with a 2.38 ERA and allowed just one run on four hits across seven innings in his last start.

He faces Matt Peacock, who is 1-1 in three starts to begin his MLB career. The rookie has pitched pretty well to date, with a 4.50 ERA, but faces a tough task here up against Peralta and the Brewers.

St Louis Cardinals to beat Cincinnati Reds

Cincinnati starter Luis Castillo is on a horrible run of seven consecutive losses, and things aren’t going to get any easier for him in this meeting with the Cardinals.

Castillo is 1-8 this season with a 7.22 ERA, and now faces Kwang Hyun Kim, who is 1-3 but has a much better ERA of 3.65. Kim is 3-0 in three starts against the Reds since 2020, giving up just one run in 16.2 innings.

The Cardinals have also been the better all-around team this season, even though they lost the first game of this series on Thursday. They’re 31-26 and are second in the NL Central, while the Reds are down in fourth with a 25-29 record.

St Louis has also gone 15-11 at home while Cincinnati is 13-15 on the road.
