We have an action packed slate ahead of us for Thursday night as we’ll see some of the top players in the WNBA on hand as two of the top five scorers in the league in Jewell Loyd and Napheesa Collier will take the floor looking to lead their team to a victory. We’ll see how the Sun recover without Brionna Jones and we’ll see if the Seattle Storm can get back to their winning ways as the off-season shook their team up the most. With so much action ahead let’s dive in and breakdown this Thursday night slate.

Best WNBA Expert Picks Against the Spread Today – Odds, Picks, and Predictions for Thursday, June 22ndWashington Mystics vs Chicago Sky Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under – WNBA Betting Lines 6/22

Moneyline: Washington Mystics ML (-163), Chicago Sky ML (-350)
Spread: Washington Mystics -3.5 (-105), Chicago Sky +3.5 (-115)
Total: Over/Under 155.5

Washington Mystics vs Chicago Sky Prediction and Pick

The Washington Mystics will keep a close eye on the health of guard Natasha Cloud as tip-off approaches as Cloud is listed as questionable for Thursday night’s game with a non-COVID illness. Cloud missed practice Wednesday as is truly questionable for Thursday night. If Cloud can’t go, this will certainly hurt the Mystics defense and benefit the Sky favorably as guards Kahleah Copper and Marina Mabrey won’t have to worry about Cloud’s stingy defense. If Copper can’t go it’ll put more pressure on Brittney Sykes to defend the Sky’s backcourt. Sykes, a very stingy defender can certainly handle this task, but with Cloud there too it certainly tips the scales in favor of the Mystics.

The Sky are really missing the presence of Isabelle Harrison who signed a two-year deal with the Sky this off-season. Harrison is set to return anytime as she’s recovering from Knee surgery. The return of Harrison will be huge for this Sky team but until she’s back the Sky will remain a middle-of-the-road team. If Cloud can go on Thursday night then this game could get out of hand quickly. If Cloud can’t suit up I still like the Mystics to cover and win as their defense is still one of the best in the WNBA.

The Pick: Washington Mystics -3.5 (-105)

Connecticut Sun vs Minnesota Lynx Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under – WNBA Betting Lines 6/22

Moneyline: Connecticut Sun ML (-225), Minnesota Lynx ML (+190)
Spread: Connecticut Sun -5.5 (-110), Minnesota Lynx +5.5 (-110)
Total: Over/Under 158.5

Connecticut Sun vs Minnesota Lynx Prediction and Pick

The Connecticut Sun had a scary moment on Tuesday night when Center Brionna Jones sustained a non-contact injury. Jones took a fall towards the end of the game and has been ruled out with a knee injury. The extent of the injury is still unknown but Jones did need help leaving the court on Tuesday night. The loss of Jones hurts in several ways for the Sun as she’s a force defensively, a mismatch down low as she’s reached double digits in scoring in every game this season so far and averages 8.2 rebounds per game. The Sun will now draw a Minnesota Lynx team that record wise is a bottom feeder in the WNBA, but play-wise, the Lynx have remained competitive in every game except their matchups with the Las Vegas Aces.

When these two teams met back earlier in June, they both almost reached 90 points as the Sun held the Lynx off, 89-84. With no Jones in the lineup for Thursday night I can still see the Sun winning but it will be a close one as without Jones I think the post will be more available for easy looks for Lynx’s Napheesa Collier who had 30 points in that game. Without Jones the Lynx should be able to get whatever they want in the post offensively. Give me the total in this one.

The Pick: Over 158.5 (-110)

Indiana Fever vs Seattle Storm Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under – WNBA Betting Lines 6/22

Moneyline: Indiana Fever ML (-120), Seattle Storm ML (+100)
Spread: Indiana Fever -1.5 (-110), Seattle Storm +1.5 (-110)
Total: Over/Under 163.5

Indiana Fever vs Seattle Storm Prediction and Pick

Thursday night’s matchup will be between the youthful Indiana Fever and the Seattle Storm as both teams are looking to start putting multiple wins together to get their season back on track. The Storm enter this game with the fourth highest pace in the WNBA and despite losing so many key players this off-season, they’re starting to come together. Jewell Loyd remains red hot as she continues to lead the WNBA in scoring with 26.2 points per game. As for her teammates, Ezi Magbegor and the emergence of Jordan Horston have helped as both have picked up their scoring and are helping carry the load offensively with Loyd.

As for the Fever, they don’t play at the fastest pace like the Storm do, but they’re one of the most efficient team’s in the WNBA as they’re the most effective team offensively off of two pointers this season. Rookie Aliayh Boston has been everything the Fever have wanted and more as her presence down-low has been crucial for the Fever’s success this year. Boston will have a very favorable matchup on Thursday night as the Storm allow the most points in the paint to their opponents this season. Give me the total in this one as we should see both teams in the high 80’s in this one.

The Pick: Over 163.5 (-110)
