We are only midway through the second month of the WNBA season, but we have already seen some twists and turns. First, Las Vegas’ quest for a perfect season came to an end when the Connecticut Sun upset the Aces. Second, there has been the emergence of rookie forward and No. 1 overall draft pick Aliyah Boston, who has scored at least 20 points three times so far this season. Third, we have seen the decline of a WNBA dynasty, as the Seattle Storm have gone from being one of the league’s best teams to one of its worst. This is all just a start. There is much more WNBA to come, so let's jump into Thursday’s slate of games.

Best WNBA Expert Picks Against the Spread Today – Odds, Picks, and Predictions for Thursday, June 15thAtlanta Dream vs. Connecticut Sun Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under

Moneyline: Atlanta Dream ML (+290), Connecticut Sun ML (-350)
Spread: Atlanta Dream +7.5 (-105), Connecticut Sun -7.5 (-115)
Total: Over/Under 163.5

Atlanta Dream vs. Connecticut Sun Prediction and Pick

There’s no debating it, the Connecticut Sun are the hottest team in the WNBA right now. After losing to the Las Vegas Aces earlier in the month, the Sun responded in their next game, routing Las Vegas for a 94-77 win. Connecticut forward DeWanna Bonner scored a career-high 41 points, and the Sun handed the Aces their first loss of the season. After acquiring Candace Parker in the offseason, the Aces were not only the the odds-on favorites to repeat as WNBA champions, but they were also expected to go undefeated. The Sun didn’t let their momentum die out, going on to beat the Atlanta Dream 89-77 in their next game. The Dream will be looking to avenge that 12-point loss on Thursday night, but they’ll have to do a better job in the fourth quarter. In Sunday’s game, the Dream hung around for three quarters until the Sun pulled away in the fourth. While the Dream’s 2-5 record isn’t particularly encouraging, Atlanta has hung around in a lot of close games against some of the WNBA’s top teams. They lost to the Aces by only five points and most recently upset the New York Liberty on Tuesday night. Give me the Dream and the points in this one, since I expect the Dream to keep it close for all 40 minutes on Thursday.

The Pick: Atlanta Dream +7.5 (-105)
Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under

Moneyline: Indiana Fever ML (+130), Chicago Sky ML (-163)
Spread: Indiana Fever +3.5 (-115), Chicago Sky -3.5 (-105)
Total: Over/Under 159.5

Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky Prediction and Pick

These teams met earlier in the month, and the Indiana Fever appeared on their way to a win when they led 91-89 with 2.7 seconds remaining. However, a beautiful interior pass from Marina Mabrey to a cutting Alanna Smith tied the game at 91-91 and forced overtime. The Chicago Sky would go on to win 108-103. This rematch should be another entertaining game, because both teams can quickly put up the points. In their previous meeting, Indiana and Chicago combined for 29 points in overtime. While I could see either team pulling off the victory on Thursday night, a play on the total is the one I like most in this game. Through the first four quarters of their overtime matchup, these teams combined for 182 points. In overtime, which is only five minutes long, they combined for 29. I expect a lot of scoring in this rematch, since the young Fever are no match for an experienced Sky backcourt that includes Kahleah Copper and Mabrey. In addition, Indiana rookie Aliyah Boston should enjoy another big scoring night against the Sky’s post defense, which is the worst in the WNBA. Give me the over in this one.

The Pick: Over 159.5 (-110)

Seattle Storm vs. Las Vegas Aces Odds, Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under

Moneyline: Seattle Storm ML (+1100), Las Vegas Aces ML (-3300)
Spread: Seattle Storm +17.5 (-110), Las Vegas Aces -17.5 (-110)
Total: Over/Under 168.5

Seattle Storm vs. Las Vegas Aces Prediction and Pick

This season has already been – and will continue to be -- an adjustment period for the Seattle Storm’s management, players, and fans. After several years of winning championships, making the playoffs, and regular-season success, the Storm’s dynasty has quickly fallen apart. With Breanna Stewart now in New York, Sue Bird in retirement, and Gabby Williams still overseas, the Storm are desperately in search of new talent. Guard Jewell Loyd, averaging 24.7 points per game, has been doing everything she can to keep Seattle from being unwatchable. Unfortunately, the Storm’s offense and the team itself only go as far as Loyd goes. The Aces and Storm met at the beginning of the season in a game Las Vegas won 105-64. The first quarter of that matchup was close, as the Aces only led by four after 10 minutes. Things got out of hand over the final three quarters, and the Aces won each of them by double-digit margins. Although I’m not a fan of big spreads, Las Vegas victories by 20 or more points seem like the norm at this point. Loyd scored 22 points in the first meeting and will likely eclipse 20 on Thursday night too. However, the Storm need to provide Loyd with some help, and it doesn’t look like that help is coming this season.

The Pick: Las Vegas Aces -17.5 (-110)
